Hopefully a job offer

Hello ladies, throughout the storm in my life I'm starting to see some sunshine. I received a phone call Friday asking me to fax more information about my previous job experience, what I did etc.... Monday I call the hiring manager explain to her that this was my last week of class and I will be receiving my degree in 3 weeks since summer school officially ends August 6, the response was ok you finishing school this week will be right in schedule, and not having my degree officially in my hands is not a problem. Is this potential good news??? I hope so I really need this job, I have not heard anything since Monday when she call. Should I call her, should I wait till next week? I'm sorry but my soon to be ex husband supported me a 100% during our marriage if I get this job, I will not need his help. That's why my nerves are everywhere. One more fact she didnt say I had the job or not. What are your opinions on this ladies.

Re: Hopefully a job offer

  • You definitely do not have the job unless a verbal offer was made and you accepted.  Yes, that could potentially be good news, or it could have just been how they responded.  I have had several interviews where I thought it went really well, they told me they would call me back by the end of the week or the following week, and I never heard from them again.  It sucks unfortunately, but the way it is sometimes. It definitely wouldn't hurt to call or e-mail next week and follow-up with the position.

    Good luck!

This is becoming the norm. 99% of the hiring managers have no business conducting an interview.

I agree 100%!  It really irks me because I'm in HR and I know just how easy it is send an e-mail disqualifing a candidate.  Especially in the bigger companies!
