Hotwire Car Rentals
If you've used Hotwire to rent a car before, what company did you end up with? Their mystery rates are less then half of what I can get by booking directly with one of the companies, but I've had bad experience with Thrifty/Dollar before and are worried I would be stuck with them!

We ended up with Dollar Rental on our Homeymoon. Why? Because our car from Hertz was horrible. No power anything and ran funny. The outside also had so many dings and scratches. We brought it back in 30 minutes time and they still charged us for an entire day. We booked through Hotwire and ended up with Dollar rental ( never used them before ). They picked us up at the airport and brought us to their location even though it was past midnight. They gave us (without them knowing) the same make and model of car Hertz gave us. The Dollar car was in fantastic condition. It ran like a gem and was power everything for a fraction of the cost. We have done Hertz a few times before with no issues. So it was just that location.
My point is yes, we've used that option. It turned out great. It's really just depends on location. Some places are better then others no matter what brand you get.
