Ombre hair color/style...

What do you think of it? Do you think in order to pull it off, most women would need really long hair? Would the style or cut of the hair matter?

I'd love to try it, but would like to hear of some other women who have done it before.

Thanks!

Re: Ombre hair color/style...

  • I haven't done it..and never will. I would love to but I am a bit attached to my natural hair color. I have seen it on girls who have hair right above their shoulders (think miley cyrus) and longer. If you have it even shorter then I think I pixie cut could pull it off. You would just have to speak to a hair stylist. Maybe even speak to several hair stylists to get different opinions

  • I like it.  I think it would look best on longer hair, as with short hair the color change might be close enough to the roots to make people wonder if you just got lazy coloring it =]  When you google image search it, almost all the photos are of long, layered hair.

I think it'd be awesome to try, but I'm a medical professional so things that are a little avant garde usually aren't appropriate.  But if you can, I say go for it!  Worst thing that happens is that you don't like it and either cut it off or re-color it.

  • I had it when I had long hair and then cut my hair to long bob and still looked good, so I did keep it up. It looks best when I style it wavey and curly. Mine is done more like a highlights that are done underneath. I love it a lot more than regular highlights. I can go on for 6-9 months before I need to touch up.

  • I have highlights, lowlights, and then some ombre at the ends of my hair framing my face. I love it. My hair goes down past my boobs.
