I'm co-hosting a bridal shower two weeks from today, and I just don't even know what to do with myself and what I should wear. I *want* to wear denim shorts with the cuffs rolled, metallic flat sandals, and a striped top, similar to this: http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/knitstees/shortsleevetees/PRDOVR~81099/99102691078/ENE~1+2+3+22+4294967294+20~~~20+17+4294967121~90~~~~~~~/81099.jsp Is that too casual for a shower, do you think? I'm just not very girly, and showers give me fits when it comes to clothes.
What do you think?
Re: You guys, what the heck should I wear?
I would replace the denim shorts (they scream teenager to me...) with a nice summery skirt and keep the top, and put that with a nice pair of sandals and nicely manicured toenails.
However, if you're co-hosting, then ask the other hostess what she plans to wear and maybe you guys can plan together.
The only reason I'd wear shorts to a bridal shower is if the rsvp card said specifically to do so.
I *kind* of have some idea, sort of. It's a beer-themed shower, like with tastings, so it's not your typical shower, I suppose. I'll ask the other host and see what she's wearing. The trouble is, I don't own any skirts that would go very well (they're either too fancy or more for fall weather) and I just don't want to go buy a new one.
I'm really not giving you all much to work with, am I? Apparently I just want to whine more about this than figure out an actual solution.
Well, that sounds like my kind of shower! Reminds me on SATC how Miranda wanted fried chicken at her baby shower.
If it's super-casual, I would still nix the denim shorts and wear a nice pair of bermuda shorts and that cute striped shirt, or capris if you like them.
But, I'm very anti-denim-shorts past the age of college...it's just a thing of mine. I know others feel differently.
I would just wear the denim shorts. That is a very "you" outfit and you should feel comfortable.
I want to know more about a beer tasting shower...I am in wedding shower baby shower hell right now and need some new ideas...
