Used Credit Card to Pay for Groceries :(
I just want to cry. We are so low on money right now we can't afford to pay the majority of our bills, buy gas, or groceries. I am putting off paying most bills for a month and buying gas for my car and groceries on a credit card. I know this is HORRIBLE, but we have no other choice. SInce my former boss cut my hours like crazy and I don't get paid from the school until August 15th we are using only DH's paycheck, it's not enough. I have no idea what to do. I am dreading seeing the minimum payment after charging almost a month's worth of gas and groceries on my credit card.
Does anyone have any advice??? Help! Thanks!
Re: Used Credit Card to Pay for Groceries :(
I have been there. Well actually we are there again. The only difference is we don't have credit available on our cards this time. My mother has been helping us out. She has loaned me about $700 in order for me to pay my bills. I feel terrible about this. I have a little saving account that I keep digging into. I don't want to but I have to. It's so sad.
Advice for you is this, do what you can to pay your bills because you won't want to get late fees or have your interest go up. You have a teaching job now so you'll be able to pay them off (or make large payments) soon. You have light at the end of your tunnel.
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
We are in the same spot right now too. We are paying the bills we need too. As for gas, food, and anything that isn't a bill, we are putting on a credit card. You don't have to pay that for another month, and by then, you should have some more money to just pay the whole thing off or at least 1/2 to have little to no interest.
Remember, having stuff on your credit card isn't all that bad. When you charge it, and make payments, it shows that you are responsible. Therefore your credit score goes up. J and I have amazing credit by doing this. Banks and both times that we went in for a car, and house shopping, they were amazed that we are so young and have this good of credit.
I can't think of anything we could sell. As far a side jobs go, by the time I would start getting paid from them, I'd recieve my paycheck from the school. Those are good ideas though.
