Monday Randoms
How was everyones weekend?
The owner of the dog I found in our yard on Friday, called bright and early Saturday morning after she read my ad in the paper. Turns out they only live a street over. I have to admit I was a little sad because he was sooo sweet, he slept with me all night. Her kids were thrilld to have their dog back though, so that made me feel good!
Re: Monday Randoms
It's been a hectic morning. The dog threw up twice this morning, so I was running around trying to get babywop ready and cleaning that up. Ugh. I didn't get a chance to put dinner in the crockpot this morning because of all that. Hopefully the H can do it on his lunch.
Weekend was ok. We went to my brother and SIL's for a cookout in Lansing. The party invite they sent out said the party was from 2-5pm. We showed up right at 2:00. We were the only ones there until like....3:30-4:00, and they waited until more people arrived to start grilling (we ended up filling up on snacks). I was kind of annoyed. We pretty much had to eat and then leave because we live an hour away and needed to get back to our dog and put babywop to bed.
This would have annoyed me too. SO's parents are the same way. We are over there all the time for dinner but when it involves grilling, we literally never eat before 9pm. Usually it's later than that. And this is when everyone comes over at like 3 or 5. By that time I'm so hungry I filled up on chips and beer. I like the taste from charcoal grills but that is one this that bugs me, it takes FOREVER.
We had a block party that started at 4 pm. People set out their dish to pass. By the time they got the food started it was well after 5 pm. I just stuck to chips and my potato salad since I didn't bring it out to later. They probably just have just told people that the food starts at 5 pm, so people could have run home and got their food. It's not like people had far to walk.
Other than that, it was a fun event. Almost half the houses showed up, which is good considering it was on a weekend in July. The kids had a blast.

Is it the alternator? Is it possible for you to plan on taking the bus for a while?
Ugh, that damn van! Sorry to hear that. I would tell DH that if he isn't willing than he can drive you around from now on or help you get a new car.
That's the thing. He isn't willing to drive me to places that I NEED to go to (doctors appts, counseling, grocery shopping, etc.) because he may need to leave at a momments notice to go to work unexpectly and won't help me get a newer vehicle. I am so screwed.

Do you have anything you can sell to help pay for repairs? Is there anywhere you can get a part time job in the evenings within walking distance so you can save up for repairs?
Because I am going through bankruptcy, I can't sell ANYTHING until it's discharged at the end of November. If I do. I get in big trouble. Yeah I have tried part time jobs like a mile away from my house and other places and have put in applications but no one ever calls me back or says they have already filled the position. Right now I have no clue what to do. My friend said she is willing to help me out but gotta figure out what's wrong with vehicle first and see if she consents to that or not.
I really like Wallinwood's room in Jenison. It's really pretty. Our reception was at Quail Ridge in Ada. It was a little more casual than most, but it was perfect for what we were going for. Pricing there was great, too. Everyone loved the food. Our pictures on the golf course were amazing.

I'm going to burst so I have to tell someone! A little background- I have a good friend we will call Lola. My boyfriend and Lola's boyfriend are brothers. I also work in the same office at boyfriend's mom.
She just texted me to tell me she is pregnant!!! They both each have a child from previous relationships. It's going to be VERY interesting.....meanwhile I sit 2 feet from the soon-to-be grandma (again) and cannot say a word because I am the first to know.

Well they really weren't able to do anything about the vehicle today. Because I wasn't "scheduled" today, they have been running around putting out fires again. Whatever it was drained the battery completely again - they just tried to start it up again. So they are going to make it a priority tomorrow and we'll see what they find. They know its something electrical. Anyways I gotta figure this out somehow because I have no money, Mike won't help at all, and money is gone from paycheck that we get tomorrrow for rent and everything else. Ugh.
