2 yr old preschool/moms day out programs?

Hi ladies! We recently just moved to the North Hills (from NY) and I'm searching for some kind of program for my 2 year old.  It's so late in the game for registrations but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  So far, no luck.  Any suggestions/recs?

We don't know anyone here and I'm desperate to get him involved into something but I have an infant as well, so juggling them both has been a real struggle.

Re: 2 yr old preschool/moms day out programs?

  • Welcome to the North Hills!

Because of the toddler/teacher ratio, classes are small and the 2 year old programs that I know of  fill up during fall/winter registration for the following year.  Elfinwild Preschool offers a Mommy and me class.

It isn't the same because you will need to be there, but Shaler Library's children's programs are FANTASTIC.  Beyond story time, they offer science, aerobics, art, etc. They have something enriching going on every day of the week.  For FREE :)

If you are near Sewickley, St. Stephen's has a Mom's Morning Out childcare option.

Also check out your township's newsletter.  Many have weekly programs you could attend with your child.

  • No suggestions! But wanted to say welcome to our board

  • I don't have specific suggestions, but our daycare also does a pre-school program and allows children who aren't enrolled in daycare to attend the pre-school portion of the day.  (At ours it's 9-1 - it includes lunchtime, which they feel is another way for the kids to socialize and learn to eat lunch at a table in preparation for school).   So if you haven't, you might want to check at daycares as well.   Good luck!
  • Thanks so much ladies! I really appreciate the input. :)

I'm going to look into your suggestions.  We're actually hoping to check out the Shaler Library tomorrow!
