weekly book post

I started Size 12 and Ready to Rock. It is by Meg Cabot and in her Heather Wells mystery series.  It is the fourth in the series. I have been waiting for it to come out for a long time!!! :-)  What are you girls reading?

Re: weekly book post

  • I am still listening to The Island.

I started The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen this weekend.  It is cute but a bit slow.  It might not really be slow but just seem that way to me.  I can't always pay attention while reading lately.

  • I've had a lot more time to read lately than I thought I would... and based on some recommendations I remember from here (I was laying in bed with my nook & bought more books than I should have) I read the Discovery of Witches & the second book.  Loved them (but liked the first more than the second).  I read the new Emily Giffin book (I liked it better than her previous one).  I read the Lying Game (have seen the TV show a couple of times & it was only $1.99 on B&N.com..).  And I read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.  I think that was recommended both in O and Entertainment Weekly-  and I wasn't thrilled with it.   One, I figured out what was happening pretty quick & two, I didn't like the whole idea behind it. And the new Sophie Kinsella- which was great. I really have had too much time on my hands to read all these books in the past 3 weeks!!

I am currently reading the Stephen King book about JFK- and I think it's awesome so far!

  • I read a cute YA kindle freebie this week- Wrecked.  Not sure what I'll read next, but I really want to read Gone Girl.....I have had it on hold at the library since 6/18 and I'm getting frustrated waiting for it. They won't tell me where I am in line, and holds have been taking longer since they switched to a new library district (They claimed their new district of only 6 libraries would make holds come in faster.....I have noticed the opposite effect unfortunately, and it's making me consider switching to the next town's library, which is just as close.)

I want to read Gone Girl.  I got it from the library for my Nook but did not have the chance to read it.  The waiting list is wicked long now.  I guess I will read it eventually!
