Baby Fever Anyone?

Because I have it!

And.. I shouldn't! H and I just bought a house, and really don't know what H's income will be this coming few months or so (he is just starting out selling life/health insurance).

But, SIL is trying to conceive, and so is my step brothers GF.. which is a whole new can of worms (They are VERY immature, not married, and living with my mom and step dad).

But, I just can't help but get excited thinking about having a baby with H, and how great it would be!

Any one else out there have baby fever?

Re: Baby Fever Anyone?

  • TOTAL baby fever!  :)  we're not trying (yet)... i go back and forth between wanting a baby really bad and being freaked out by the idea of having a baby now considering our current situation (we're not living together yet bc of our jobs, i'll *hopefully* be moving in a month)
  • I go both ways!!! If I think too hard, I do! and then I don't! I'm ready, we are not ready... back and forth!!! We are trying to get rid of all of our debt and then trying to find a house. We need to wait. I just keep telling myself, and him, that. BC is our only prevention and if it happens, it happens :)

  • You are not alone! I totally have it too!! H and I have a lot of plans and babies right now isn't one of them. But that doesn't stop me from wanting one!!! I think H will be a fantastic dad and I can't wait to be a mom but there's still a lot to accomplish before then.

  • We just went to dinner with our couple friends last night (they got married 2 years before us) and they have a 13-month old boy now.  I LOVE seeing that kid and I LOVE babysitting him because I LOVE spending time with him.  It's so weird how much he changes each month we see him!  Well, yesterday his mom was holding him and when the baby saw me he leaped out of her arms and jumped into mine.  My heart just melted.  His mom said "Wow, he doesn't even let his aunt hold him."  I want children so badly, but H is the practical one and swears we couldn't for a few years.  Well, after we left dinner last night, I passed out I was so tired, but H stayed up working on a presentation. Apparently I said "I want a baby" in my sleep when H was crawling into bed.  Oops.

I've had it for awhile too but H doesn't know that. I never thought that I wanted kids but lately it's all I've been able to think about (I have names picked out!!!!!). We're in the same boat, as far as, having just bought a house but it's definitely something that might happen sooner (1 year) rather than later (3-4 years).

  • Not at all lol. It's more of a puppy fever... I REALLY want a dog to love on. Things need to settle down first though.

At the moment, I'm with you.

However, H and I can't be wishy washy with having a baby. I'm a transplant nurse and deal with a lot of nasty drugs with a lot of really bad side effects, even if they are just being handled and not consumed. When we decide to have a baby, we have to be 100% in it, because I won't be able to work with certain patients. I think that helps keep the fever away :)

  • I've had it for so long now. And lately it's only gotten worse. I'm ready and H is ready but money wise we want things to settle down and get paid off and all that. Next year we will be trying!!! We do still have a lot going on this year and then next year I will be in a few weddings and having to travel so obviously I don't want to be uncomfortable during all that. But baby fever is here and apparently not leaving any time soon!
  • Yes! Part of me would love a baby now, but we like our time alone and can't really afford a baby right now.

  • I have a slight fever... and I'm expecting!  We are thrilled, but honestly I don't get all oggly around babies.  It scares me, but one of my friends felt the same way and she is an awesome mom!

  • Totally....we are going to start TTC later this year!!  I am standing up in two weddings and we need to be able to travel for both of them.  I can't wait and time seems to be moving so slow!

  • Um... yes (though it's making me sad).

I can't get pregnant while sick and I've been sick since 2 days before the wedding. But I am meeting with my doc in a couple weeks and am going to ask about a OB/GYN that specializes in what I have to do my annual so I can establish a relationship.

Right now we are just finishing paying of the honeymoon this month (paid off the wedding already) and hubby has owned our house for 7 years so we're pretty established.

Once I get better I am going to be way excited to start TTC ;-)

  • Yes and No, it definitely comes and goes. I feel like I'm ready personally but we're not financially ready. We'd really like to pay off some debt and buy a house before we have babies.

  • Yes. H and I are so ready for children, but not financially and I keep telling myself--"It will happen on day...be patient and enjoy this time with H."

We have a baby bucket list--things we want to achieve before having children and that goal list helps a lot.

    Here's ours:

    -Move back to home-state

    -Buy/Build our dream home

-Half my student debt (everything else is paid off--just my student loans left to battle. And there isn't too much, thank god...)

-Buy a new car (this is a maybe...we'll have to see how old Betsey does these next few years)

-Take a trip to Ireland with no guide--just us exploring! I'm thinking it might be there that we TTC which we are currently planning for 2015/16.

I just keep telling myself...stick to the list. And we have time, we're only 23/24 :)

  • I have mad baby fever. We bought our house last September and I've been itching to turn our spare bedroom (which now serves as an office) into a nursery! We're waiting at least two years before we TTC so we can pay some bills off and enjoy being married but I'm so excited for that time in our lives to come.
