Do you have any vacations planned/sort of planned?
where are you going and when?
I'm trying to get inspired to do some planning
Re: Do you have any vacations planned/sort of planned?
In September we are flying out to St. Louis to visit family and friends for a week.
We are planning next year beach trip (looking at rentals and dates), nothing set in stone yet.
Vacation to Disney World 10/30-11/5 with my Mom, my sister and her family (husband and their four kids), my other sister and her family (boyfriend and one kid), and us (E, M, and baby L).
Trip to Myrtle Beach in March for my cousin's wedding, which is on Easter (March 31). We'll probably drive down early the morning of Friday 3/29 and stay through Tuesday 4/2, since M is off school through the 3rd and it's a long drive for strictly a weekend. Depends on where we're staying and how much it's going to run us, though.
I want to take a family vacation next summer with E and the kids, but I don't know where yet. I don't want to rent a beach house since that's not really our most favorite thing in the whole world, but I'm thinking of an extended weekend in Deep Creek or something. We'll see. Finances and ease of portability with the littlest one will determine the details.
DH and I were planning on going on a decent vacation this summer for our five year anniversary, but instead we decided to save up money for home renovations
LAME!
So, we're thinking of sneaking away for a week in November once I'm done marathon training (running long miles on vacation doesn't sound like a vacation to me) and DH is done studying for his PE exam.
As of right now we're thinking of Myrtle Beach. We can rent a house and take the dogs with us, which is awesome because we've never vacationed with the dogs.
Any other suggestions besides Myrtle Beach? Someplace that's dog friendly, drivable, and more of a chill-out vacation?
We don't really have any planned and it sucks! We did go to Martha's Vineyard for half a week and stayed in DH's grandmothers house (which is old and tiny), but since we only stayed for 3 days and had a 10 hour drive each way it didn't really feel like much of a vacation, KWIM?
We usually go to OBX for a week, but trying to save up all my leave for ML we aren't really going anywhere and it sucks. I'm thinking about maybe finding a quick weekend rental at OC maybe. I have a friend that is just amazing at planning and she knows all these sites to search for last minute quick deals so I might hit her up.
I'll reply to my own post!
September - Week of Labor Day - we are going to Marco Island Florida for a week - I'm so excited to be on vacation w/ just DD and DH. I really need to get on top of things and book our flights and activities!
January - we're supposed to go on a Caribbean cruise w/ my parents for their 50th anniversary and supposedly they are planning and paying for this. I'm not particularly enthusiatic about a Caribbean cruise, but if they are paying for it, I won't complain.
I'd like to plan something fun for March, April or May too. The Olympics are definitely making we want to go to London again, but I'm not sure if DH will have enough leave and I'm not sure if that's a good idea w/ DD - also thinking about Vegas (w/o DD) or San Francisco (with or w/o DD. .. ) Also - obviously money is an issue too.
- We're going to NYC for three days this month for my birthday
- Arizona for Thanksgiving (where I'm from)
- Arizona again in May for my friend's wedding
- 5 days next August at an all-inclusive in Cancun. We just put down the deposit for this last week

We leave for a cruise on August 17
Just booked Vegas for November! Past that I got nothing
We're heading to Aruba in a few weeks.
We've tossed around the idea of visiting Spain and France in the late fall/early winter but have not planned anything official yet.
Oh yeah and heading to Tampa in December to visit my Gramma, we will probably stay in Clearwater again though.
We want to do a European cruise next year but not sure how that will pan out.
Kira is begging for disney again
I'll do a few day trips up to the beach throughout the remainder of the summer.
DH has to schedule vacation in January every year which is a PITA. One week he floated which he alredy used and then his second week is the first week of October. We're hoping to fly down to FL to go visit his brother. If not, we'll probably go to the beach for the week.
My brother that lives in Seattle just got engaged and is getting married next summer. There is no location or date set as of yet but we know we'll be heading out west...could be Seattle, Vancouver or Sonoma (those three are in the running that we know of). I may end up making this a cross country trek and take like 3 weeks off while driving and exploring. A lot will depend on the date they settle on though because it's hard for me to take that much time off in the beginning of the summer.
We don't have any vacations planned. Except for traveling for a few dogs shows, we haven't gone on a vacation since going to Barbados in 2009. We have been saving to buy a new house.
Unfortunately it's looks highly likely that I'm going to lose my job soon (company was bought out) and then when I get a new job I'll have no leave again and will be unable to take a vacation. I'm totally bummed as I think we need to get away and have a break. If I get a job quickly and have a bit of time between jobs, we might try to have a vacation then so that I don't have to worry about having vacation time.
I'm sorry! Sending good job vibes your way!
Also meant to add - we haven't been on a real vacation besides Ocean City since our honeymoon. Right now whenever we save up a good chunk of our money, we turn around an invest it in home improvement/upgrade projects. Right now that is the case for new kitchen appliances which makes me a happy woman!
