Re: Well-Being Wednesday!!!
After an un-vacation in Colorado, getting very little sleep, being at high elevation and chasing little cousins, I was beat on Monday night. I took Tuesday off as well, but sent Tynan to daycare to start getting him back into the routine. I slept for 12 hours before finally getting up for the day. Accomplished only 2 loads of laundry, grocery shopping, and going to prenatal yoga again, but I feel sooooo much better now. While my vacation was not relaxing at all, at least I got a break at the very end!
I've lost 2-3 of the 5 lbs I gained back after a month of no running and vacation, so that's a good thing! I just wrapped up my second week of PT for my knee and Monday I get to try the treadmill for a "light jog" - I'm SO excited! And nervous. Hopefully the pain stays away all week and weekend so I can get back to it! I'm also cleared to walk for exercise now so hopefully a good long walk w/ the kids will be part of our weekend plans.
Mentally i'm a mess. But what else is new, right? My PCP gave me a therapist name but when I looked at her website I'm just not sure. I guess I'll call today and find out -- I mean, can't hurt to meet with someone to see what's going on, right? I certainly feel better now that my ear is unclogged and with a little increased activity.... but the mood swings are way out of control, and my inability to have patience with my kids has to stop. *sigh* maybe while I'm fixing my knee I can fix my brain too. We shall see what happens when I call them today. I keep thinking I can fix this myself but clearly, after over a year, I can't. *sigh*
On a good mental note, I'm totally tackling a major office reorg. Since I started working from home almost 18 months ago, I've been doing little makeshift things to make my 'home office' work. But it's a disaster and always has been. From now on, downstairs is my office. Period. If I choose to to work upstairs for a day that's fine, but no moving all the files around, not knowing where things are. I'm headed to Ikea alone tomorrow or Friday to pick up some Expedit cube shelves and baskets, and by next week I plan to have a totally redone office space downstairs. Working downstairs isn't my fav thing, but I think that a redone, dedicated and organized space will totally change the feeling of the room. And I can purge a bunch of stuff while I'm at it! That is always good for the soul!
