Renaissance Seaworld, Universal & Seaworld w. 5 yr old?

anyone stay at the Ren Seaworld? how did you like it? I have a 5 1/2 yr old & we thought it looks like fun for him.

Also is it possible to go to orlando and not do disney? we are going next week for a week and am thinking of doing Seaworld & Universal & the hotel pool/waterpark and not disney as my 5 yr old has been there 3 x already. I may cave though and get tix for at least one day, lol. We are addicts.

Any thoughts?

Thx!

Re: Renaissance Seaworld, Universal & Seaworld w. 5 yr old?

  • I havent stayed there, but we are going to Seaworld next week, staying at the Hilton Grand Vacation. But I did want to tell you, if you buy a Discovery cove pass, you get 14 days free to Seaworld and Aquatica (their water park). We booked it with out the dolphin swim (have to be 6yo), and it was about $170pp. But Discovery cove is all inclusive (food and alcohol!), and with the 14 day pass, it was a no brainer! Then you could go to those parks as well, and certainly avoid Disney.
  • If the child has never been to Seaworld before, it's a must-go.

Otherwise, I think Seaworld is a bit of a bore - and I'm a marine wildlife nerd.

Other than the live shows, there's not much to do - and it's far too crowded to truly enjoy any of the exhibits. Visit a good Zoo instead.

  • Renaissance Sea World is great hotel, huge rooms, and has a nice little water play area for kids.  And it's walking distance to Sea World.
  • It's a very pretty property. I thought the rooms were a good size and it's right across from Sea World, which makes it nice. The pool was a little small, but still nice.
