Baby headband craft station

I'm throwing a friend a baby shower, and we are setting up a craft station where guests can decorate a baby headband if they are feeling creative. I plan on already having elastic sewn together in the appropriate sizes. Then allow guests to decorate using hot glue. Any suggestions about what materials to have on hand? This is what I have so far: assorted buttons, rhinestones, fake flower petals, handmade fabric rosettes, assorted ribbon. I plan on buying the embroidered stretchy headbands to have on hand too.

Or has anyone done this at a baby shower? Tips? Tutorials?

Re: Baby headband craft station

  • Make sure that people glue everything REALLY well. Babies will grab ad pull at the headband and you don't want stuff falling off that can be choking hazards. You may want some felt to glue on the underside of the stuff so the glue/decorations don't scratch the baby's sensitive head too.

  • I would have guests decorate hair clips (you can line them with ribbon ahead of tine). Must easier to glue things to. Just have them clip them to a headband that matches.
  • Thanks guys :) My rosettes are felt lined, so that's a good idea. Everything else besides the fake flowers are small enough to stay on the elastic. I  I was planning on double checking/hand sewing peoples work afterwards, before I give it to the mommy to be. I think I might include clips too.
