A Facebook status update from the Yankees Thursday likely had Bombers fans frantically searching for the dislike button.
Shortly before 4 p.m., a bizarre and alarming message popped up on the the Yankees? page on the social networking site:
We regret to inform our fans that Derek Jeter will miss the rest of the season with sexual reassignment surgery. He promises to come back stronger than ever in 2013 as Minnie Mantlez.
The post was quickly deleted, but the Yankees weren?t the only victims of Internet hijinks Thursday.

The Cubs? Facebook account was also hacked after a message appeared on the club?s page that read: ?F--- Bill Murray.?
There were also odd messages on the White Sox, Giants, Marlins, Padres, Angels, Braves and Nationals Facebook pages. Deadspin.com first reported the strange postings.
A sampling:
White Sox: "Everyone knows President Obama is a die hard ChiSox Fan. Unfortunately, we?re voting for Romeny. #MuslimPresident"
Giants: "Wow, the Chick-fil-A guy sure is an a--hole."
Nationals: "We're going back to Montreal. SEE YA SUCKERS!!!!!!"
A Facebook spokesperson said the wild posts were the result of "actions from a single rogue administrator of these Pages."
The Yankees had no comment on the social media snafu.Team Facebook
pages are run by MLB Advanced Media, which oversees MLB.com, and not the
individual teams. MLB Advanced Media issued a statement saying that it
"regrets this occurence" and that the company is working with Facebook
and MLB Security to "determine the circumstances surrounding this
situation."
Jeter famously appeared in drag when he hosted Saturday Night Live in 2001. Jeter, aka Candy Soriano, donned a wig and had his face made up for a sketch about Yankees? wives. Giants quarterback Eli Manning followed in the captain?s high heels this spring when he hosted the program and also got all dolled up for a show segment.

Re: HAHAHA Baseball teams facebook hacked
My three sons!
I wonder how they came up with Minnie Mantlez as Jeter's female moniker.
If I were a fan of one of those teams on FB, I would have been so confused. I find this a pretty good joke as far as hacks go.
