Daycare-Your kids were potty trained at WHAT age? and a question.

My daycare ladies kids were potty trained BEFORE they were 16 months old.

Like completely potty trained. Every morning she would sit them on the potty and turn on water. She told me "Oh my daughter gave me a heck of a time because she wasn't potty trained until she was 23 months."

She had 5 kids.

I'm all..."what the WHAT?"

Anyway, I'm starting to talk about the potty with KR-what do you/will you call private parts. I'm sure as hell not coing to call it a c*ck like my dear co-worker who did it to piss his MIL off.

  • That isn't unheard of to potty train that early.  I know several people who did.

I call it a penis but Parker corrects me and says it is his pee-pee.  (and he says daddy has a bigggggg pee-pee!)

  • Kids typically cannot attend preschool around here until they are potty trained. So, the goal is by age 3. My one friend "forced" her daughter to potty train early and then had tons of issues -- I think it is a correlation. I want to say before she was 2. Anytime she'd be in a stressful situation she'd refuse to use the bathroom etc.

Ella sits on the potty and has peed a few times. She likes my parents' house because they have a mini seat on the regular seat versus our little potty. She likes to sit on it anytime I use the bathroom, but I think she thinks it is chat time.

I won't push it until she's two and daycare is very supportive and set up to help out -- the changing table is right near the potty, etc.

  • Eli just turned 2 and he uses the potty a few times a day. He call's it his peepee'er haha. He came up with it on his own because its where his pee comes from. but sometimes he calls his pee poop.

  • Julia is pretty good about going on the potty if we put her there.  She hasn't quite figured out how to tell us she has to go yet.  Sometimes she will walk into the bathroom and stand next to the toilet if she has to poo, but not always.  I am hopeful that once she gains better communication skills it will become easier.
