Carpet Steam Vacs?
I was looking to rent a carpet steam cleaner for the new house we're renting, and DH suggested buying one. I thought he was crazy, but some of them look much more reasonably priced than I thought.
Does anyone have one? Is it worth the cost (we'd get a <$200 model)? And how often do you use it? I'm not a clean freak by any means, but we're TTC and I don't want a baby crawling around on a filthy carpet. FWIW, we don't wear shoes in the house.
If we did buy one, would you still rent the presumably heavier-duty rug doctor one for the initial clean? Thanks!

For some reason I didn't see the post right below asking for recs!! Sorry! I went through several pages, not sure how I missed it!
Questions still stand, though, about whether or not to buy, how often, whether to use a heavy duty one first, etc.
