    Re: How was your weekend?

      • Highs? Gracie's swimming appointment, FIL and DH installed the new window in the family room and re-did our sump pump, date night with DH and park time with Gracie.
      • Lows? Can't think of anything.
      • Eat/make anything good? Fogo de Chao was pretty good. Also had Five Guys.
      • Watch anything good? 30 Minutes or Less was okay.
      • Read anything good? Didn't pick up my book but had a lot of car time to listen to Moonlight Mile.
      • FFCs, vents, AWs, comments, etc? Can't think of anything.
      • What are you looking forward to this week? DH going out of town and having the house to myself for a bit.
      • Highs? Dinner with friends and kids Friday night. DS taking 2 spectacular 3+ hour naps this weekend!!
      • Lows? DH isn't feeling well so he was mopey and napped most of the weekend.
      • Eat/make anything good? We went to Chili's on Saturday. It's nothing special but I love their crispy chicken tacos.
      • Watch anything good? Season 4 of Breaking Bad is finally available for streaming on NetFlix so we watched episode 1 last night.
      • Read anything good? No.
      • FFCs, vents, AWs, comments, etc? When we were leaving Chili's, a stranger came up to us and told us how cute DS was and how well-behaved he was. It totally made our day to hear that since dinners out with DS can be kind of stressful and we were just hoping to get the check before he started shrieking.
      • What are you looking forward to this week? Hopefully a Target trip tomorrow for a new bookshelf with canvas drawers that I've been wanting to get forever. Birthday party this weekend.

      • Highs? DH took off Friday and Sunday, which is rare.  On Friday we went to the Amiah market and just spent some quality time together.

      • Lows? Cleaning all day in Saturday and mowing yesterday in the heat.

      • Eat/make anything good? Pretzel cheese log and blueberry fritter from the Amish market.

      • Watch anything good? The Olympics and we finished the third season of Breaking Bad.  That show is addicting! No pun intended :)

      • Read anything good? No

      • FFCs, vents, AWs, comments, etc? Sorry, but this is long and vague.  Vent: Last night, my parents brought up something from 18 years ago that upsets me to this day.  They kept pushing the topic and I kept shutting them down.  DH was very supportive and helped me try to change the subject but it was pointless.  They would not let it go so I finally just got up and walked away.  DH thinks I need to tell them how I feel but I don't think I can without having a total meltdown.  My mom would freak out and turn it around on her (because she has to be the center of attention) and my dad wouldn't say much.  DH thinks I'll feel better but I'm not sure. There's nothing to resolve because what's done is done but maybe I should get it off my chest.  I just would want to remain calm and composed and I don't think I can.

      • Highs? DH bought a new truck on Saturday and on Sunday, went to brunch and I drove it home - first time driving it.  We went home to change before going swimming and we were driving w/ the windows down and all talking and DD was so happy and excited about the new truck and DH was too (it was long overdue and we got a good deal).  I got a little emotionally overwhelmed and teary b/c it was just such a nice family moment, but yet so small.  It was dopey, but sweet.
      • Lows? I woke up for no reason at ~4 am on Sunday and couldn't go back to sleep for several hours..
      • Eat/make anything good? I took DD shoe shopping on Saturday and then we went to Chipotle which DH doesn't like.  I had a super yummy lunch!
      • Watch anything good? no
      • Read anything good? Yes, I'm reading Last Night at chateau Marmont.

      • FFCs, vents, AWs, comments, etc?  DH totally needed a new truck and it makes sense for him to get a new vehicle.  But, I'm still slightly annoyed that he's now got a brand new vehicle and I'm driving the same one from 2003!  Mama's getting and upgrade next year!!
      • What are you looking forward to this week? We're supposed to go to Dutch Wonderland this Friday, assuming the weather isn't unbearable.  Hope it'll be fun!

    • Highs? Hanging out with a good friend, having dinner and getting an amazing deal on a dress; visiting family on Sunday; going to BJs by myself on Saturday, so I got to take as long as I wanted (can't do that when DH is with me)

Lows? Didn't get as much cleaning done as I wanted, but can make up for that this week.

Eat/make anything good? Mom's spaghetti, dinner at 13.5% Wine Bar (we split the squash pizza, dip trio, heirloom tomato salad and Hampden bar).

Watch anything good? Contagion, it was ok. True Blood.

Read anything good? I finished the Fallen series Embarrassed It's pretty awful (i.e. like Twilight), but an easy read.

FFCs, vents, AWs, comments, etc? Vent: A new woman started at work last week and she is killing me. She has everyone so stressed out, it's pretty bad.

What are you looking forward to this week? Hopefully it won't be as horribly crazy at work as it was last week, though it's already shaping up to be bad. Is it Friday night yet?

      • Highs? Being in Disney until late Sat night

      • Lows? Coming home

      • Eat/make anything good? We went to Wolfgang Pucks place on Fri night and the pizza was amazing!!

      • Watch anything good? 30 Minutes or Less was okay.

      • Read anything good? Nope, spent 7 days laying in the sun!

      • FFCs, vents, AWs, comments, etc? I had ask H to get some things done while I was gone and he didn't do any of them!!! So frustrating!!

      • What are you looking forward to this week? I'm getting a Pedicure this week!!
      Visit The Nest!
    • Highs? Our new chaise arrived Friday, which I love.  Saturday evening we saw close friends of DH's for the wife's birthday.  They're awesome people and their son loves DS to death, so time with them is always good.  Sunday we went to the HoCo fair and had a blast. Lows? DS is getting the last of his teeth and really feeling them.  When he's distracted he's fine - but when he isn't it can be rough. Eat/make anything good?  Not really.  Watch anything good?  Caught The Blind Side on TV late last night, which I had never seen straight through - it was great though I'm paying for the lost sleep today.  Besides that, more Olympics. Read anything good?  Starting Gone Girl - great so far. FFCs, vents, AWs, comments, etc?  Nothing that I have the energy to write about right now. What are you looking forward to this week?  The Wiggles on Saturday!!  DS is going to lose his mind.

      • Highs? It was new furniture weekend! Mr Rags & Baby Rags helped E pick up our furniture on Friday night and the rest of the weekend was spent assembling, organizing, purging, and then some. It was insane. My house is still in a disarray, but it's already such an improvement.
      • Lows? I'm frustrated by how limited I feel. I was trying to help E with furniture assembly, but the amount of time I can spend folded up on the floor is short. I tried to dig into the closet in the baby's room and made a dent, but had to stop sooner than I wanted because I just couldn't sit and bend and reach anymore. Why does nesting have to come when you're huge and exhausted? There's so much I want to do and I just can't. And it's not the weekend anymore, but I'm home sick today.
      • Eat/make anything good? Chili-cheese dog from Sonic on Saturday night. Veggie white pizza for dinner last night. And chocolate milk at least twice a day :/ Heartburn is raging and the milk helps me feel better. At last, that's what I'm telling myself.
      • Watch anything good? I watched Dirty Dancing on Saturday night and started re-watching season one of Alias last night.
      • Read anything good? No, but I bought a Jennifer Weiner book Saturday night - I'll start it sometime soon.
      • FFCs, vents, AWs, comments, etc? My husband was amazing this weekend. He spent almost 7 hours, all told, on furniture assembly. He moved things around the bedroom. He banged apart the old dresser so that it could be taken downstairs in pieces, since I couldn't help move the full piece of furniture. He hauled stuff up and down the stairs more times than I can count. And he didn't complain even once.
      • What are you looking forward to this week? Getting more stuff accomplished around the house. We've hired my nephew to come help E unload a bunch of oversized crap from the house (mattress, box spring, broken lawn mower, etc., etc.) and take it to the dump. And M and I are going to a friend's daughter's first birthday party on Saturday afternoon!

      • Highs? Having a pleasant weekend with my sister and getting a lot done this weekend - decluttering my mom's house, co-op meeting, working, legal stuff

Lows  - Having to drive up to PA again. I guess I really didn't have to do it, but I wanted to be at the care meeting with the social worker. My sister is kind of brash.

Eat/Make?  I had Chipotle for the first time and it was really good

        No reading

FFC's/AW's etc. -  Background - my mom was hospitalized 2 weeks ago due to bp and other issues. She can't walk by herself, even with a walker, so they released her to an in-patient rehab facility until she can adequately walk on her own. Dear sis, I AM glad that you are getting more involved in Mom's care, but I do expect you to do a *bit* more when you are at the house - clean up papers, take stuff to Goodwill, throw stuff out, make sure bills are paid and that there is enough dog food for the dog. I know you are overwhelmed and have a "stressful" job, but I'm busy too AND I have a husband and kid to add to the mix.

In addition to going up 2 weekends in a row, I also had to arrange to have legal papers drawn up, find a notary/witnesses and drop them off after they were signed. All sis had to do was drive home.grr.

It was the first night I spent away from DD. Everyone survived. After I left, she wandered around the house for 1.5 hours going "Ma Ma"? and looking for me. She also woke up 2 x during the night calling for me and DH said it was hard to get her back to sleep. Also, I swear she grew taller in the 30 hours that I left her.

AW - The social worker at the nursing home said to me "You are so polite.". HA! I just think it's better to be polite to the people who are coordinating my mom's care than, "brash", as my sister describes herself.

I am looking forward to this week being over Smile
