Re: Meaningful Monday 8/6

  • While Friday was a very busy day and traffic sucked, I got to have a nice lunch w/ my boss, and got to spend about 60 minutes in Ikea ALONE. it was awesome. rushed, but awesome. I am beyond thrilled for the opportunity to organize my office. I work from home, but have not had a real space to call my own that encouraged and motivated me. So now, by next week, I will have that space!!!! And a long convo w/ the boss over lunch got me re-energized about being a lawyer so time to start kicking ass and taking names again ;-)

My kids were so incredibly awesome this weekend - we had errands and lots to do around the house here, and they were great playing on their own for a lot of the day. And man their snuggles were the best this weekend. My daughter's little eyelash-batting is going to be killer as she gets older, she's got that down pat already! And my son ran around all weekend talking about all the dinosaur names he knows now ;-) Tooooooo cute!

  • I love my kids..but today was the first day or should I say 3 hours I did not have both of them. It was a nice relaxing morning getting much needed phone calls done without the constant interruption.  It did feel very strange though not having them around.  four more days of camp :)

  • I am grateful for good doctors and antibiotics. I've had a cold for a few days, and the pressure in my head is just getting worse since I can't take decongestants. I finally just went to the doc - looks like a sinus infection ( can't xray to be sure) and an slight ear infection already. So I've got antibiotics and hopefully will feel well enough to get back to work quickly!

I am grateful for pinterest. It's saving my marriage. DH is beyond psyched to design a "big boy" room for DS in his favorite theme - aviation. He's an aeronautical engineer and loves all things plane, and he's having a blast coming up with ideas for his room. So many links in so many emails was driving me batty - but on Friday he found my pinterest page with all the stuff I have pinned for the room (including his faves) and now he loves it! He likes seeing all the options in one place, and it's one central gathering spot for everything so now I don't have to sift through the 10+ emails to find the link for that one thing we really want to buy or do. I am getting much less frustrated and we are working together on everything much better than our old method!

  • I am thankful that my two kids really love healthy food. Don't get me wrong, they love junk food too. But not having to fight over vegetables and fruit is wonderful. Even better, when they request something nutritious for dinner as we walk through the produce department of the grocery store :)

I am thankful that my mom was there to help me with the kids yesterday at camp. Although my DH was there, he was working all day. Having a second set of hands really made for a stress-free day, on what was a very busy day with lots if people around.

I am thankful that my sister has agreed to babysitter my kids on the night of the parent orientation for DD's preschool. How can there only be one more month before she starts school?!
