I know a lot of us were kicking butt with our workouts in the months leading up to the wedding.... how is everyone doing now? Who is planning on keeping at it or starting back up?
I am FINALLY feeling better and thinking I will start up a workout routine again.. I would love some workout buddies!

Re: Working Out
YES PLEASE.
I have been failing miserably since the wedding

I have been failing miserably since May
But I want to get back on track now.... its just finding the time and energy!

I plan on going with H when I can for support and so I can run longer distances without getting winded. It's kind of pathetic and I'd love to play soccer again.
I don't work out much so I have a most likely silly question. H has gone to the free gym in our complex once since the wedding and used the treadmill. He got a blister on the bottom of his foot last week from this and says he can't work out until it heals. Is this valid or is he whining?
This is a legit question btw since I've never really worked out before. I don't know if there are good ways to cushion it until it heals so you can work out or if waiting until it heals is the best option.
Blisters suck. It's not that he can't work out, but running couls really aggravate it and pop it, which would be mighty painful. He should try the stationary bike instead. MUCH less chance of it popping

Thanks Chels! I think they have a bike in there. VBS is this week anyway so his blister might be healed by next week when we can get back over there. If it's not though, I'll let him know about the bike option. I know they have an eplitical, would that be okay?
I think the eliptical would be fine too.
I have slacked since getting back from the honeymoon because there just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day. Between moving into our new house (and trying to unpack/organize everything), work and life I feel like workouts have been pushed to the back burner. I would really like to change this though and would really love to get back to running. H's and mine goal is to run another half, but everytime we find a race we could run, we don't feel like we have enough time to train...guess I just need to stop making excuses and go!
midgetthemighty - I would also love to be able to get back to playing soccer, but I have yet to find a group of people around where I live that would go and play with me. H would, but he would probably just be a goalie verses actually playing the field.
I've totally been slacking and my pants are much tighter as a result. I have gotten back into healthy eating (for the most part), but I still need to get back into the exercise. I am going to Australia in January so I need to be back into prime bikini shape by then!
Not really sure where to start though.....I don't want to do Insanity again, but I can't seem to find any other programs that I like. Any suggestions??

That is how I am feeling too... I dont know what to do. I think I will start back up with Insanity and get my base back.... since I am sure its been lost! I obviously will have to modify it a bit so I dont over do it.... but I really enjoy Insanity! Then maybe in a month or so I will start running outside.... it should be getting nicer here by then!
I just started running again this week, since I have a half marathon in January. I absolutely HATE getting up early to go run but I get home so late, I think I have to do it in the morning.
Midge-where is the blister? Depending on where it is, I may lay off running for a few days because I tend to change my gait to avoid aggravating the blister, which in turn messes up your entire leg. But usually covering the blister with moleskin is enough to prevent pain/make it any worse. But he can definitely do the elliptical or stationary bicycle instead running.
The weather is definitely a big problem here for me.....I love running outside, but 90% of the time in Vancouver, it's raining and I really just can't get the motivation to go run in the rain. I know everyone says it's the best way to run, but I don't see how being cold and wet is appealing at all. H and I were hoping to get some hiking in this summer but we're already halfway through "summer" (and by summer, I mean it looks like winter outside) and we haven't gotten out yet!

yep its time and energy for me. do we want to have an accountability thread again?
I think it would be good to do a combined eating and exercise daily thread like we used to do.... whoever thinks of it can post it. I think it really helps to stay accountable!
Daria, I'm not exactly sure where it is. I think it's by his toes?
Re: Soccer - I hate goalie so in my mind, somebody's gotta do it and as long as it's not me, I'm good to go. My H said he wants to play too and there are adult rec leagues here. He didn't even like soccer before he met me. Fixed that!
This is my H exactly....when we first started dating, he came to one of my soccer games where I got a yellow card and he was cheering as he thought it was great to see some "physicalness" to the sport. Since then he has learned a lot and actually enjoys the sport.
I also agree about hating the goalie position, so I don't mind that he'll play the position, but I just need to find some more people to play with so it's not just me taking shots. I want to actually play a game.

Honestly between working, finding a new job or more hours where I am now, and moving/unpacking I've dropped the ball.
Luckily Chris said he wants to start working out together after we finish unpacking the house. Which is good for both of us since beyond the obvious of working out, we both will encourage each other to keep going.
