Hey ladies!
I've had a strange day today. I posted on the baby fever thread last week, saying I have insane baby fever. DH and I are currently TTA though, not ready for kids right now, but I still ooh and aah whenever I see babies or pregnant ladies. I have been feeling lousy since Friday and finally went to the clinic today... And the doctor made me take a pregnancy test! Freaked me right about because I'm on Nuvaring and it never crossed my mind. It turned out negative, but some part of me was a bit disappointed in some sad way.
Of course DH knew what was going on, and right after I saw the negative I called him, and he said "it would have been really crazy, but we could have handled it!" Cutest thing ever. Now I'm sadly peeking in to the office, wondering what it would look like with a crib in there. Darn PMS hormones making me sad!

As much as I'd love a baby right, I usually cure my baby fever by thinking of the "downsides" of having a baby. As in, H and I are solely responsible for another human being for at least the next 18 years. And there's no more deciding we want to go do something, like have dinner, and just being able to.
Once we don't see these things as terrifying and/or are willing to give up our social lives and carefree-ness, we'll go for it.
This is such a good point. DH's three siblings all have kids (6 under 6 total!) and they're a real handful. I just have to think about our freedom and quiet time being completely gone and it helps!!
Watch someone elses kids for 24hours or longer (maybe a whole weekend)....I promise. It will cure your babyfever.. and the parents will love you for giving them that long of a break since most parents only ever get a few hours away from the kids.
