What brand of jeans do you wear?

I have worn Old Navy jeans for the past 10 years or so because they're affordable and they come in lengths (I'm short!). But lately they don't seem to fit so well and they stretch out a lot. I wear jeans almost everyday in the fall/winter/spring so I'd like a good pair.

So please recommend your jeans! The more affordable, the better!

  • The last jeans I bought were SO brand at Kohl's. I actually got them in the Junior department and they fit really well. $20!

  • I used to love Old Navy jeans because I could go in, grab my size, and count on them fitting without trying them on.  I agree with you though that recently they have changed their styles up and I don't get that same perfect fit anymore.  I now am in love with Style & Co jeans.  I get them at Macy's when they're on sale and they're my "go to" jeans that I know I can get without trying on.  They have short lengths too by the way.

  • Before kids, when I had a lot more disposable income, I had an obsession with Lucky Jeans. They fit me SO GOOD. But yeah, they are like $100. I still squeeze myself into my old ones, they have held up remarkably well. Their sizing is consistent and they have 3 different lengths.

I am not a fan of old navy jeans (even though i have a couple of pairs) because I find their sizing means nothing (I can wear any size from a 4 through a 12) and like you said they seem to stretch out weird and not hold their shape.

I did get a pair of Levi's bootcut slimming jeans from Macy's a while ago and they are decent. I feel like the rise is a bit high and 'mom-jean' ish though, but I guess that is the price you pay for slimming. I just wear a longer top.

Not a fan of any of the jeans I have gotten from Kohl's either. Also the Gap. I really really want to like the Gap jeans but they never look right on me.

ETA: I think these are the Levi's I have

  • I've always had good luck with NY& Co jeans. They'll run you around $60 but you can usually get a sale or a coupon to bring the price down.

  • Sevens.  I've dabbled in a million others - Citizens, Antik, R&R...the list goes on and on...but I always go back to my Sevens.  Nothing else looks anywhere near as good.

ooh, yeah, I picked up a pair of Sevens in the old Filene's Basement once and they were very flattering and comfy. unfortunately I cant squeeze my out-of-shape rear end into them anymore Crying  But they sit there in my closet waiting.

  • hmmm I may have to look into Sevens...  Silly question but where do you buy them??  I'm sure I have to lose some more weight to get my butt into a pair though.

  • My two go-to pairs are a pair of skinny levi's and a pair from Anne Taylor that I got at Goodwill (I need jeans post-baby and didn't feel like spending a lot of time/money finding ones that fit correctly. They're a bit big now, though.) I realize that I need more pairs of jeans, but I usually wear comfy pants after work and I can't wear jeans *to* work.

  • I either buy from Old Navy because they carry longs or NY and Co again because they carry longs/tall.

A lot of the major department stores and other jean specialty shops carry them.  Bloomingdales and Neimans also carry them - and once you know your size many of the deal-a-day sites also run specials every few months.  There's actually a Seven for All Mankind shop at Tysons Galleria.

Try the A Pockets.  You'll be sold for life. ;)

  • Until recently I liked Gap jeans, you could buy lengths and the curvy style and while not cheap, affordable.  But the quality of the denim has been horrible, so thin, they would get stretched out and baggy within a few hours and I got holes in them easily.  I have a pair I got from Eddie Bauer that I like and from Lands End, both much better quality and not super expensive.

  • NY&Co because they have a good variety of short/ankle length.

  • Anything that is cheap and it fits! I go to Gabriel Bros. in Bel Air and buy jeans from there since they are cheap usually anywhere from $12-$24.
  • My favorite pair of jeans right now are the Denison brand from Target...had to get them hemmed (I too am short) but they aren't super low waist-this mama cannot do that any more) and have some streatch to them.

  • I really need new jeans. I wore AE jeans growing up but I need to switch to a more adult brand.   My problem is that I carry almost all of my excess weight in my stomach.  My waist is almost two sizes bigger than my legs, which makes shopping difficult.

I'll have to check out some of these options.

  • Sevens here too....they just fit so well. I've gotten a few pairs decently priced at Loehman's.

  • My favorites are Gap and AE. I really need new jeans this year and I'm dreading shopping already.
  • Citizens of Humanity.....they look the best on my butt (at least they did pre-baby).  If you are willing "invest" (which sounds dumb but a good pair of jeans can be worth their weight in gold) do what I did lol - I went to Nordstrom, grabbed every pair of jeans in 3 different sizes and tried them all on.  The sales people were fine with it (or at minimum very good at hiding their annoyance ha.)  Rock and Republic looked awful on me, SFAM are okay but not fabulous on my butt, etc.  It was helpful to see all the different comparisons in one trip.

If you are looking at Filenes or the like - there is a brand called "Sevens" or something that is NOT what Rags etc are referring to, so be careful (they may fit fine, I dont know, but if you want Seven for All Mankind they are different.)
