Hi, new here. DH and I want to buy a house and I found a great deal of one online and we saw it from the outside and fell in love. Great little fixer upper in our ideal neighborhood and way under our budget. Though have not yet started any of the process. We still need to work up a down payment. But still excited that there is a house out there for us
Re: We found the house!
That's fantastic! There are loan programs out there - a 203k - that can assist with renovations. You may also be able to qualify for a loan with a small down payment, such as an FHA or even better - a USDA Rural Development loan depending on your incomes and where the property is.
Be aware, though, that such minimal down payment programs will most likely require the house to not be a 'fixer upper' or foreclosure. A conventional loan would work best, as this loan works best with 'as is' properties.
Good luck!
