communication issues

what are some tips to increase communication for a newlywed couple dealing with transition of military life? Please Help!!!

Re: communication issues

  • I would call Military One Source for a little free maintenance counseling. H and I were having some communication issues before we got married, we got some free counseling from One Source, and we've been amazing communicators since.

1.800.342.9647  is the number for Army Military One Source. I just guessed since it's the largest branch. :)

I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.
  • you also have counseling benefits through Tricare, if you call them they will provide you with Tricare covered counselors in the area. I found one to be very helpful in preparing for deployments and homecomings :)
  • Check with the Chaplain's office to see if there are any marriage retreats coming up.  They are great for learning communication skills in military relationships.  We always have a great time when we go.  We try to go once a year.
