Let's complain.

I'm too afraid of going on too many "non-school related" sites while at school, so my posts won't be during the day much anymore. Boo.

I'm getting sick. I know first year teachers get sick a lot from not being used to all the germy students, but I'm sick 2 weeks before we even have students! Maybe I won't be sick again for a long time..... grr.

The school also added another different music course for me to teach. I know my job description is just "music teacher" but if I didn't ask about my schedule, I would not have known until they eventually gave us our schedules (and we're not sure when that's even happening yet). I know they're super busy, but it's nice to be able to use the before school planning time to plan for the proper classes!

... sorry, it's way too easy to complain when you don't feel well :P I am still very excited and overall happy with the new job.

Re: Let's complain.

  • Ugh. I am just getting over being sick for a week and a half. It doesn't help to be in freezing cold operating rooms all day. Sorry you're sick. Hope you feel better soon.

I am loving my new job as OR nurse. We're in week 3 of a 6 month orientation and the most part we're observing certain things each day in anticipation of doing them the next day. Like this week we were to scrub in on a surgery and watch what the assistant does. I was always taught you look with your eyes, not your hands. Well, the plastic surgeon had me assisting with stuff that I was certainly not prepared to do. It seems that no one in this department knows the true meaning of the word observe and that annoys the hell out of me. At any rate, I love my job and am certain this is where I am meant to be.

I am also noticing that I need to be medicated to deal with my co-worker's ADHD... This may be a problem.

  • I'm a social work student about to start my senior year. That means I have 17 credits, a 20hr/week job as a nanny and a 15hr/week internship to do this fall semester. Also I have stuff to do like laundry and washing dishes some time as well.

I will be gone until almost 9:00pm almost every night during the week. So, I'm not sure if I will see my DH for the next few months, and the Spring semester isn't looking much better.

I just hope that the things I am doing are actually enjoyable to make it all worth it. I certainly am excited to be possibly getting a "real"  job a year from now. A year just seems so long when you don't have time to do things like eat, or sleep.

This will be a test of how far I can push myself. We will just have to wait and see I guess.

my last semester of nursing school i barely saw my DH and when I did, I was always stressed out and in a sour mood. You can do it. It's totally worth it in the end. Good luck this semester!

  • I am going back to school later this month and am very excited to do so! My H has been pushing me to quit my job bc I hated it so much. My last day was July 31, sounds great right? Well it is, I love being at home and getting some "rest" in. The part that sucks is we laid hardwood flooring last month and right before I quit, we sprung a leak in the kitchen, ruining part of the floor and two cabinets and some dry wall.

So, my wonderful parents (who mean well and I love dearly) decided we need to do some upgrades while everything was already messed up. I understand where they are coming from, and completely agree, however, it has me all stressed out! So we had to pull all the flooring out of the kitchen, we took all the cabinets out, and tore out all the sheet rock. We are going to update the electrical (right now we have bus fuses and they honestly scare me), and replace 2 windows and the back door will be going from an old sliding door to a new French one. We are also getting the plumbing updated so this doesn't happen again. Did I mention school start in 18 DAYS?!?!?!

There is no way this is all getting done before then, aghhhhhh. I know it will look amazing, I know it. However, AAAAAGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!! Thanks for letting me vent ladies Tongue Tied

  • My complaint...It is a really gorgeous day out today and instead of working out in the yard, I am stuck in here at the computer.
  • My doctor won't do an 8 week ultrasound at my first appointment.  Everyone else on the due date club board is getting one.  From what I've heard, you can't even hear the heartbeat until week 10 at least, so how does he know that everything is okay if he can't hear the heartbeat or see the baby?

We went to the WI state fair yesterday and I got sunburned.  I hate sunburns.  I also ended up with a nasty case of icky diarrhea (sorry, tmi) and couldn't enjoy half the stuff I wanted to.

This guy is supposed to be training me to take over his job and he's doing it kind of, but he's also just doing stuff for me, which isn't helping me learn.  He's a friend, so I don't want to be confrontational about it, but he needs to let me do things myself or I won't learn.

  • Scarlet, they can usually hear the heartbeat by 7 weeks, sometimes sooner, sometimes later. Some places won't do anything invasive early on, and don't want to worry you for nothing. Example, at my 6 week appt there was no heartbeat so I spent a week worried that there wouldn't be one. If you're not satisfied with your doctors policies on it, find a new one now while it's still easy to switch.

Complaint.....after my trip home I'm super nostalgic for my old life. That's as much as I'll get into it right now.

Also, I'm painting again but the only time I can really get into it is after the kiddo goes to bed. So then it's hard to get up for the gym in the morning if I spend too long painting. So conflicted.

Scarlet, are you from WI? Just curious, because I am .

  • I'm still po'ed about taking abreak from school and not working. But this isn't a new gripe. Thankfully I don't really have nothing new to gripe about.
  • Zero, thanks for the information about the heartbeat, I hope they can hear it next week then!

Hattie, I actually live in Illinois, but I spent about 8 years growing up in Wisconsin.  I lived in Muskego (by Milwaukee) for I think 6 years and then spent about a year up in Manitowoc (by Green Bay).  We used to hit the state fair every year when I was younger, I try to go back up there every year for it.

I also try to hit up Kopp's in Glendale every summer for a burger and chocolate malt!
