Re: Mom Jeans
That was a fun article! I hate jean shopping for this very reason -- Gap and ON jeans fit me terribly and it's a huge ordeal to find a nice fitting jean in my price range near where we live. We have an Express, but their jeans never fit me as well as the ones in that post (and I like a less embellished pocket).
Yes--I'm also not a fan of the white stitching that seems to be oh so trendy right now.
I despise jean shopping and it is because of the pockets or the ridiculous lengths (sorry Amanda!). I have short trouser jeans from J.Crew that I still have to wear heels with and my legs are not "that" short.
I will readily admit that I spend an asinine amount of money on jeans, but there is nothing better than rocking a pair that fits you perfectly. I have found my holy grail in Joe's Jeans Petite and Paige Skyline. Perfection, no horrible white stitching to make me look like I am trying to hard to be 20 instead of closer to 40, dark wash with no holes or distressing and a nice med-rise that doesn't have me flashing my undies or wearing my jeans to my boobs.
Although my favorite pair is my American Eagle boyfriend jeans which are so unflattering yet so comfy.
I'm sitting here in a pair of LL Bean cropped jeans.

It exist, but it ain't cheap.
Yeah, I'm finding that problem alot as I fight to get out of the juniors department but I'm still built like a junior.
True that, Kris!
In the $100 range I was able to get a pair of Paper Denim Cloth jeans years ago, which I still love but can't find again, and I more recently picked up a pair of baby bootcut jeans from Lucky that sort of come close to fitting well (without the obnoxiously stitched pockets). I try to keep an eye out at Marshall's b/c they have Paige on sale sometimes, but it's like hitting the lottery finding the right size.
I actually like Antropologie for premium denim. They have sales a lot and I have gotten some great deals. My last pair of Joe's were $190 and I got them on sale for $100. Which is still a lot but they are AMAZING. I am in love with those jeans.
My last pair of Paige I used gift cards for a Christmas gift I returned at Nordstrom. I do love those too but they are really dark and I feel more fall/winter or dressy.
A lot of premium companies make petites: 7 For All Mankind and Joe definitely do. I actually have a couple pairs because my legs are short.
Yrah I hate jean shopping too. I am probably smaller than most juniors, haha! I struggle finding things to fit!
Where can I find Joes or 7s? I really have no clue. I tried to look on their sites but they seem to just list their main stores but do other places carry them?
Confession: 2 years ago, I made the decision to bite the bullet and splurge on a nice pair of jeans. I got so overwhelmed and intimidated by all of the different cuts and styles, I ended up at the Gap and bought yet another pair of my old standby. *sigh* Then I got pregnant again and obviously didn't bother buying anything then. Now here I am, over 1 year post partum and still sporting those Gap jeans...I don't mind them except for how much they stretch, it drives me crazy!!
Maybe this will be my year to splurge!

Nordstrom Petite Premium/Nordstrom Denim Shop
Also, a lot of girls on F&B rave about KUT from the Kloth
Anthropologie, although their selection varies depending. They currently are carrying the Citizens of Humanity Dita Petite
Bloomingdales
specialty denim stores like Pittsburgh Jean Co.
Im unfortunately not in Pittsburgh so that's part of the issue! No nordstroms, Bloomingdales, or pittsburgh jean co. I feel like I don't know of anywhere where I'm at that carries them. We do now have an Anthropologie so I'll have to check them out. Those jeans are cute
I don't get on much so I'm just reading this post and wanted to share....The Monroeville Mall (if you can call it a mall anymore
) has a machine called Me-Ality. By standing in this 3D whole body machine it scans and measures you based on the moisture in your skin. When finished it prints out a list of stores and the best fitting jeans for you. Size, brand, price etc.
I was measured and have my printout but haven't gone back to shop yet!
Give it a try!!
I'd just like to be on What Not To Wear so Stacey and Clinton can pick out everything for me. Lol! I'd be willing to spend more on jeans, I just don't even know where to start if I'm shopping online. Ugh.
