I've made a mess of our stroller situation. Advice please!

We have two strollers - a City Mini and a Bugaboo Chameleon which we bought used from a neighbor. I LOVE both of them, but we only have the car seat adapter for the Bugaboo and I find the thing a total pain in the butt to unfold.

Basically it's just not working for me. One thing I am realizing is that ease of use is paramount. The outfit may be cute, but can I get it on and off easily, likewise the stroller is awesome but if I have to battle with it every time I open it, it's not going to work in the long run.

This wouldn't matter so much if we were still in the city as I'd leave it open and we used the car a lot less, but now we're country folk I need to be able to use it for the car a lot more.

So what to do? Buy a car seat adapter for the City Mini? Buy a Snap and Go frame? Sell the Bugaboo n?

I'm thinking we'll sell the

  • Oops - contd.

I'm thinking we'll sell the Bugaboo and either get the adapter for the City Mini or get a snap and go frame. It's just a shame because the Bugaboo is truely awesome apart from that and I love the bassinet option.

    Thoughts?

  • Will the Bugaboo get easier to open/close once the bassinet is removed and it has a regular seat?  If that's the case, maybe hang on to it for later on??  I'm not familiar with that stroller so I don't know how it works, but that was kinda my issue with the Uppa Baby Vista.  I fell in love the with ease of the CM open/close so we got that instead.  I would check out Craig's List or consignment shops for a Snap 'n Go before you get the infant adapter for the CM- I saw one not too long ago for $20 in my local shop.

  • The Snap N Go is on my list of things I could not live without. DS is 9 months old and really heavy in our infant carseat but when he falls asleep I am ever so greatful for the Snap N Go.

FYI - we also discovered too late that our City Select did not have an adapter that worked with our infant Britax seat. That's when we bought the Snap N Go.

  • Keep the bugaboo. Buy a snap and go. You can get one for less then $50. I loved mine for indoor suburb stuff.

  • Problem is solved!! I went to Buy Buy Baby and I was doing it wrong. Obviously we needed a touch up lesson. I do think it's dumb that a stroller could need lessons in how to use it, but once you know (and assuming you don't forget as we did), it's actually easy. Such a relief - we got a good deal on it but it was still pricey and I would have hated to have wasted the money. I think I have the technique down now.

  • I'm late in responding but I was going to recommend keeping the bugaboo, esp if you got a good deal on it. We love ours and it's not too hard folding/unfolding, esp. when you use the carseat with it. It's so easy/nice to push.
