I need help with Birthday ideas
My dads Birthday is coming up. He is retired..has ZERO hobbies. He is kind of a simple, no nonsense kind of a guy. He is really bored at home..so I try to find an putting for him. For instance, for Fathers Day I told him that I would take him out for Brunch and then to see the Traveling Vietnam wall memorial. He enjoyed that. I also took him to go see the Civil War exhibit and he enjoyed that as well. Any suggestions or ideas? I can always make him a gift certificate for an upcoming event, so if the event is two months from now, it doesn't matter.

This isn't going to help with the birthday gift suggestions, but does he live near you? If so, maybe the 2 of you could volunteer someplace once a month? Time together, gets dad out of the house, good works... I dunno.
Time together gifts: golfing, concerts, sporting... I went to GRNow's calendar for ideas to suggest, but I don't know your dad. Sorry.
Sounds like he might be up for anything as long as he gets out of the house. Am I right?

Grand Rapids Public Museum has an exhibit called Game On.
The Ford Museum has an exhibit on quilts right now, so I couldn't suggest that.
Like a PP suggested, the Tuesday night concerts at the Gardens are nice. You could go to dinner before.
