Re: Free for All Friday!!!!

  • This fever needs to stay away so that Ben and I can join hubby and Maddy at a BBQ tomorrow. I need to get out!

    I love Dinosaur Train.

I am choosing play and housework over work today. this will come back to bite me hard core next week so remind me that it's all my fault. But I can't take the piles of laundry baskets in my room!

I got 8 hours of sleep last night and feel like a new woman.

I have no idea what to wear to said BBQ tomorrow.

Maddy needs to move up in her classroom assignment at daycare, but I know that means horrible adjustment for her. But she needs to be challenged more.

  • Booked a hair appt for me and DS at noon, which is pushing it because that's lunch/nap time, but it was the only time available because of course I waited until the last minute to call.  I woke up with pink eye and have a 10am Dr. appt.  Looks like I'll be packing them a lunch to eat on the road and crossing my fingers that there isn't a meltdown.

  • OMG my boss just destroyed my weekend. I have a sick kid home today with a million errands to run. And he just emailed and said "Hey, I need you to put together the reply brief on this motion to dismiss, which is due on Monday.  Our original motion is attached.  I don't think it should take very long at all.  Sorry for the late notice."

WTF??????????????????????????????????? I'm not home all day and night tomorrow, the BBQ date was set on a day that worked specifically for us. This means that sunday I will be spending the entire day and night in my new, half-finished office space working my arse off.

Oh and he sent that from the beach, where he's been on vacation all week.

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

  • I have a killer dinner planned for tonight, and I don't even know if my friend is actually going to make it. I sent him a message a few days ago to confirm, and haven't heard back.

    Here's tonight's menu...
    Maple Pork
    Roasted Sweet Potato Salad
    Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus

We have another friend who *might* stop by tonight, "but not until after supper." I don't know the reason for this impromptu visit, but I had my other friend's visit on the calendar for weeks. Why DH didn't check the calendar first us beyond me. I don't want my friend to feel uncomfortable or rushed because someone else shows up. I will entertain my guest, and if the other actually shows up (history if no-show, and last-minute cancellation), then DH can entertain her. So much for my plans. Ugh.

  • U/s went well last night. Didn't see anything unhealthy - although she didn't get all the measurements she needed. So we go back in 2 weeks.

We're going to have a ridiculously busy weekend. But I'm excited - DH and I have been getting along a lot better the last couple of weeks and we're both happy to be working on house projects again, even if it does get hectic. We missed doing home improvement stuff together.

I want to mysteriously find $250 in the pockets of my jeans so I can buy a rug I really want for DS's room without blowing the allotted budget. I can't stop thinking about this rug. It wasn't going to match with our first "plan" for his room, but we've changed directions slightly and now it would be perfect. First world problem, I know.

Amy, the "Fly Over" rug from Land of Nod? That's adorable. I hope you find the $ so you can use that in T's big boy room!

  • Had an awesome lunch w/ my little man today!!! Even getting caught in the rain was more fun when I just let the work stress go for today. We laughed and giggled and got soaked ;-)

Now i'm home and the only thing I can think about is work and all that I have to do, which is just causing me to literally shut down and not want to do anything.

Got a new book on anxiety to read. Now I just need the cajones to call the dang therapist whose number I've had for 2 weeks.  not like i'll have time for an appt before vacation anyway even if she has space, work is about to go CRAAAAAAZY.

Yes, that's it! Good news is that DH gave me the go-ahead to order it! They started a 15% off promotion today that covers shipping + a little of the actual cost so it's not quite so bad. Good timing! (sorry for the excessive number of exclaimation points, but I'm really excited about this rug, haha!)

  • Only one friend here tonight.

DS is miserable. Took him over an hour and a half to quiet down when I put him in his crib for the night. Then only a short while later, he started up again. I've now been up to his room 3-4 times since then, and it's not even midnight. I'd try to go to bed, but I doubt that I'll get any sleep tonight, so why bother? :(

  • Oh, but supper was amazing! I'm so glad I made enough that there are leftovers! :)
