Re: Jogging stoller with second seat attachment?
I have a friend that has the Phil and Ted's. She likes it. I don't know how I feel about the one kid being basically underneath the other.
I really like the Baby Jogger City Select for a double. But I don't think it's a jogging stroller.
So, do you think using a Phil and Ted stroller would be okay to "work out" harder. Whats the big difference between a Bob than a Phil?
That being said...my "running" is more like a runners walk...so I'm wondering if it would work...hmmm
I don't think my stroller is considered a true Jogging stroller. But it has 3 air filled tires. I'm definitely not a hard core runner in the least, but I would run/jog the indoor track with it during the winter in my strollercize class. A true jogger would probably be a bit easier to maneuver, etc, but I know my stroller was much easier and lighter than some of the travel system type strollers that some people had there.
It has something to do with the suspension. I'd read the manufacturer website and see, usually they tell you what can be done. People are always thinking they can run or jog with something like the City Mini just because it's made by Baby Jogger and has 3 wheels and the front can be fixed, but it doesn't have the right tires or suspension. For the hardcore runners a fixed front wheel jogger with 16 inch tires is usually the standard. The BOB Revolution has a swiveling front wheel, but you can lock and it has some killer suspension, plus it's massive and can hold a kid up to 70 lbs. Even in a true jogger they say you aren't supposed to run with the baby until like 6-8 months because of head control and the jostling when running.
That being said though, if you aren't planning on running like sub 10 minute miles, maybe a P&T would be okay. I'd look and see on their site what they say and maybe test it out if you can and see if you'd feel comfortable with it with whatever suspension it has.
I am totally in love with my BOB though, even though I don't have an outside baby yet. But I can't wait to get back to running eventually and take the baby with me when he/she is old enough. I did get a B-Agile though too for everyday because the BOB is just too massive to fit in my small trunk and the thing is like 25 lbs.
See, I'm all torn, I think I'll get the Phil and Ted Navigator because I really don't have a good walking stroller, and I do want to take him out more.
I kind of starved off buying a nice stroller because I wanted to get something that I could use for 2 kids, but a $500 stroller just wasn't in the budget at the time.
DH runs (like marathon style), but I think until I actually see him running outside more then I'll consider getting an actual jogging stroller. He's been mostly running on our treadmill anyway.
I'm thinking the Phil and Ted would be the best bet for me, and could grow with our family.
Right now, I mostly go down the street and "run" on the track, so if I take KR along, I think it would be sufficient.
