Fall color trip - southeast
Hoping to get a few suggestions on locations for a fall colors trip! We went to Asheville last year and LOVED it, especially the sights and hiking we found in the Blue Ridge Parkway area.
Before I book a second trip for this fall, I'd like to hear if anyone had other destination ideas to take in the fall colors. We'll be driving from the Central Florida area and would like to keep our trip at or under a 10 hour drive since we will be traveling with two children. That would likely limit us to Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas.
Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions! Have you rented in that area before on VRBO? Are there any properties you recommend?
Ditto the pp. Blue Ridge is great. We have a cabin in Ellijay and are up there all the time. This area seems to be very popular with people from FL, we always see lots of FL plates!!
Our neighbors have a cabin rental business, they have lots of options:

I have to agree with Blue Ridge, GA. We rented a cabin from Avenair (www.avenairmtncabins.com) a few years ago, and next month we have a cabin rented from VRBO.com. The area is gorgeous... we alsways get a cabin way up high in the mountains, but there are also a lot of creekfront ones, too.
Blue Ridge is a cute town, Amicalola Falls is awesome, eat lunch/dinner at the Pink Pig, go to Mercier Orchids,....
Have fun!!
