Goodness this board has been deaaaddd. Is everyone ok? Lol or just too busy with real life to han out on here? ![]()
Yvonne - how are you doin mamma? I hope the heat hasn't been too much for you lately.
Nicole - was your birthday this weekend? I know your hubby ended up working right? I hope you still had a good day!
How are all of our pregnant nesties?
How are all of our Nestie mommies and their adorable little ones?
How are all of our teachers that are going back to work?
Anyone read any good books lately?
Im doing good. Some days I think I have an acrobat living in my uterus and other das I wonder if she's still in there she's so still. Work sucks lol as usual. I'm getting classic remarks from people regarding me being pregnant...never a dull moment.
Re: Where is everyone!?
DH and I just got home yesterday from vacation. I thought they were supposed to be relaxing, but due to car problems on my less than 2 year old car, it was horrible.
Getting ready to go back to teaching. Yay...
Tons of great books read this summer though:
The Kite Runner
Language of Flowers
Molokai
and The Art of Racing in the Rain
name just a few
I've been busy. And, since I joined the smartphone world, I totally understand everyone who said it's a PITA to post via their phones, lol. I'm lazy and don't turn on my computer anymore unless I'm working on blog stuff.
My garden is producing more than we can eat, so I've been working on canning stuff. This week I've done cranberry-walnut relish, pickle relish, dill pickles, tomatillo enchilada sauce... and I have plum sauce to make and can tonight.
And, when I'm not in the kitchen, we've been working on re-doing my office. It's almost done so I'll post pictures at some point.

I'm doing okay, just ready for this baby to come out of me! We've been trying to keep busy so I'm not constantly focusing on it, so that's where I've been. We went swimming yesterday, date night last night, bowling Thursday night, movies on Monday, hike last Sunday. Trying to cram in as much alone time as possible before our lives change. The end is really rough, not so much uncomfortable, just really anxious and want to meet this baby!
As far as books go, I just finished Pandemonium the second in the Delirium series by Lauren Oliver. And then the usual baby books, Happiest Baby on the Block, The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding, and paging through WTEWYE, and Mayo Clinic Guide to Pregnancy to make sure I'm up on everything at this eleventh hour.
I am also trying to make the most of the end of summer and the rest of my maternity leave. Just a couple weeks left until we are back to work.
M got a new cast and has one whole leg free. She's been doing so much. She has recently decided that she should attempt climbing the stairs. She gets up on her legs then starts crying because she can't go anywhere from there.
I am feeling rather crappy, huge, and swell-y in general. It is unseasonably hot here, which sucks. My A/C's are running pretty much 24/7 just to keep it breathable in the house.
DH and I are pretty much finished with the nursery, and we've bought all the baby stuff. We are just ready for her to be here, and I am ready to be be able to take a full breath and to reach the sink again. It's amazing how unaware I am sometimes of my huge belly. I ran right into the side of a crib on display at Babies R Us the other day. :-P
Other than that, I've been on modified bed rest since 25 weeks when I was dx w/ Pre-E, so I am booooored and lonely at home. My favorite part of the day has become waiting for the UPS man to drop off all of my Amazon.com purchases. <-- So pathetic. My Bumbleride stroller will be here tomorrow and I am beside myself with excitement. :-D
As far as books go, I've only read a few so far this summer.
-I was roped into reading 50 Shades by a friend, and it was literally the worst book I've ever read. I couldn't wait for it to be over.
-The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time: This book was interesting, and a little strange. It wasn't at all what I expected it to be. I'm not sure how I felt about it. It was good, but I wouldn't say it was my favorite book ever. I was left with really mixed feelings about it.
-The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy: Someone here suggested it, so I read it. It was hilarious. I read it on the plane home from Vegas and actually LOL'd through the whole thing. People gave me funny looks.
-Twenties Girl: Also read in Vegas. It was a great vacation read, and a really cute/ fun book. I enjoyed it a lot.
I'm here! I've been relaxing at home lately and not doing much in particular. I am soo ready for fall!
Baby is beginning to set in and feel a little more real in the last few days. Im Feeling pretty proud of myself for that. That's a huge deal for me. I've been feeling Stewie move over the past two weeks and Judd even felt it last night. We find out in two weeks if Stewie is a boy or girl. We even cleared out one of the guest bedrooms.
I'm here.. mostly lurking since I don't have much time to post.
We are doing well, things are just super duper busy. Between working full-time and Taylina.. plus having a garden etc. there just isn't much time left in a day to do extra's.Taylina has changed and grown so much. She rolled for the first time last Saturday, and is starting to do so much which makes her so much fun! I'll try post a picture of Taylina one of these days.

Blog
School started and I am SWAMPED outta my mind... but in a good way. This is the first day I've even logged in! I took on a new leadership position at work and might even take an official position of mentor teacher though I'm currently unofficially mentoring and working with them. It'd be nice to get paid to do that and to have a structured mentor program. I like stepping up and taking leadership but have no desire to go into admin so it's perfect for me. I also have some big, lofty but doable goals for literacy in my classroom, my focus for the year.
Anyway, so I'm kind of a work-a-holic right now but it's all good. I'm loving it and so far my students seem to be also. I teach 12th grade but have an advisory class of freshies this year (9th grade)... suuuch a switch. They're super good for me though. I think they're just scared of me, lol. I'll milk that, hehe.
Things are great with J... he's amazing. He lives 75 min away without rush hour traffic though so the distance is tough and we see each other on the weekends but it's all good. It allows me to focus on work during the week and we really enjoy our time together on the wknds. He's the most amazing guy I've ever known! So... that's the quick breakdown... just suuuuper busy but suuuper happy!
