? re: the weeks leading up to delivery
Did you experience BH contractions? I have had literallyabout 4 BH contrax since 28 weeks - all from overdoing it or being on my feet for too long. I thought that I would be experiencing these a little more regularly by now. I will be 38 weeks this week and wondering when my body is going to start getting ready for labor, haha. At this point, I fully expect to be induced at 42 weeks!
Re: ? re: the weeks leading up to delivery
I am so curious if I am dilated at all - even though I know it means nothing really. Maybe I will find out this week...but a lot of the doctors in my practice don't do any internal checks until 40 weeks.
I am feeling a bit of pressure in my pelvis that I haven't felt before. Saturday night I woke up because of crazy pressure near my buttcrack! It was so weird but it eventually went away.
Ugh - I am sorry you had to wait that long! A friend of mine was just telling me she went through the same thing. I fully expect this to happen to me (trying to increase Murphy's Law chances!!)
I did have some, but I didn't realize what they were at first. There was one day (about a week before he was born) that I had some fairly significant ones and was considering calling the doctor, but they went away.
From what I understand, it's totally normal either way -- and you could be having contractions that you can't even feel.
My office starting checking at 37 weeks. I was a steel curtain at 37w, 1cm at 38w and then as I mentioned, at 39w my water broke and I was 3cm, so theres proof that absolutely nothing, or quite a bit, can happen in a week. Furthermore, I had a friend who was already 1cm at 37w and kept getting closer and closer every appt thereafter, however, she ended up being induced TWICE and had her daughter close to 41w.
This is very true, you really never know. My doctor GUARANTEED me that I would go the week before, he swore up and down, freakin liar liar pants on fire. He couldn't believe when he saw me the following week at which point I proceeded to give him the finger, lol.
When I was induced I was still on 1 cm which I had been at 36 weeks and know that I was dead on with my due date. Oh, then, my neighbor who was due 2 weeks after me was at the doctor the same day and was told nothing at all was going on. That night her water broke and had her baby the same day as me, so you truly don't know. I do have to say in looking back, it was a fun and exciting time not knowing when you were going to go into labor, but, at the time, not so much fun. Hang in there.
Yep, when I went in for my scheduled c/s my contractions were 7min apart and I didn't feel a thing.
DD: 6-24-11
EDD: 9-20-14
I had one at my 41 week appointment that's about it.
I had no BH contractions...I had real contractions for 2 hours before I went to the hospital and found out I was 6cm. It all happened really fast! So, you never know.
I didn't notice more than a couple when I was pregnant with my first, until my due date- and she was born that night. This time around, I feel like I have them all the time already and I'm only 31 weeks! I have no idea if I just notice them more this time or if I didn't have them last time.
I was sure I would be at least a week late last time, and didn't have any signs my body was preparing or anything last time, and then went into labor on my due date- so you never know! Although last time they did push my due date back a week based on an early ultrasound, otherwise I guess I would've been a week late
Way late but I had very mild BH contrax. I was a scheduled C though and only 1cm dilated before I had him. Who knows how long it would have taken me naturally?
Enjoy the last few weeks!
