AI Rec for a big group- easy travel from East Coast
I'm trying to plan a trip with a bunch of my friends for a 40th bday. We would be flying from Boston and I think w a big group an AI is the best option. Who has some good rec for me to look into? Needs to be decent food, easy travel from Boston (max 6 hrs) and mid range $$.
Re: AI Rec for a big group- easy travel from East Coast
I would look into the following chains as they almost always get pretty good reviews:
- Riu resorts (Jamaica/Mexico/DR) - lower to mid price range - I've heard good things about them for the price
- Excellence (Riviera Maya/Playa Mujeres areas) - mid to higher price range but gets awesome reviews
- Iberostar (Jamaica or Riviera Maya) - Iberostar Grand will be in the higher price range but they have lower & mid range options also
- Secrets (Jamaica or Riviera Maya/Playa del Carmen areas) - higher price range but gets awesome reviews
www.tripadvisor.com will help you out a lot when trying to make your decision.

I would also second the Riu resorts, we stayed in Costa Rica at the Riu with 46 people last Novermber, incrediable time.
Also, Secrets Resorts are the best, just stayed at Wild Orchid in Jamaica and are already planning our trip back next year with 4 other couples.
Will be heading to Mexico in December staying at an H10 resort for SILs wedding, I know she did a ton of research so it must be good as well for groups!
