Holy hell. I knew the general premise of the movie but not everything and...holy hell. It shook me to my core and I spent the night with my heart pounding, crying, my eyes wide with shock and my hand covering my mouth. I can see why you "didn't recommend it" but sort of did. The way the documentary was put together was amazing and he is an amazing friend to Andrew. Andrew's dad's raw, uncensored emotion was heartbreaking and literally threw me back on the sofa several times.
I watched it alone and that was a mistake. I thought it would be more sad than horrifying and figured DH wouldn't want to watch it but I was wishing he was home holding me through it instead of out on a boy's night!
Re: Rags - I watched Dear Zachary
Omgoodness. Honey I'm so sorry you watched it alone. The next morning I was just a wreck and I was hoping someone on here had seen it. I just needed to reach out somewhere because - like you said - holy hell. I was a mess. Like you, I went in knowing the general premise and not much else.
There's a special place in heaven reserved for Andrew's parents. I am in complete and total awe of them.

I didn't even read the netflix summary, am I able to read that portion or will that give too much info? I know the hubby will want to know what he's watching so it'd be great to know a little bit before starting if it won't ruin it.
I just added it to our queue. The Netflix summary is only a sentence or two and I think it's just enough to get DH interested.
I think the Netflix summary is fine - it gives away a bit but not too much.
