It's Monday so it's the start of a new week. What does your week look like?
Mine is like this:
So, this week I am most excited for my interview. I noticed on their website that their board meeting is on Thursday evening so the offer will come by Thursday or Friday of this week if they want me. I feel like this is my last chance for a teaching position for this coming school year so I'm really freaking out here. I am trying to think positively but it's hard because I've had so many rejections this summer. If I don't get an offer I'll be a substitute teacher in the local school district. It will just be very hard not to have a set schedule and also to survive on such little pay. However, it will get my foot in the door. We are also waiting to hear if DH is offered a second interview in the school district where he interviewed last week.
So as you can see my life is a bit up in the air right now. If neither of us get offered a teaching job life will be VERY hard. Our income will be very, very low and we'll be struggling to make ends meet. It will be terrible----however, we'll make it work somehow. I really do need to stop worrying. It only makes me more stressed out.
Thanks for letting me vent.
Re: The start of a new week
Hopefully you and your DH hear good news this week Tara.
My week is pretty basic. M-F work from 8-5. Friday evening we have my niece's 1st birthday party at 7. So sometime this week I need to get her present. I'll probably do it on my lunch one day. I hate having a whole hour with nothing to do. Classes start next week so I also need to buy my books this week. Again probably do that on my lunch break. I brought home my mom's treadmill since she never uses it. My goal is to get it set up this week and use it at least three times.
I'm really really torn right now. Yesterday on the 5 hour drive home DH and I were talking about me and school. He's really pushing me to go part time on school starting this semester so I have less stress during my pregnancy and to keep taking classes while I'm a stay at home mom next year. One of the major benefits aside from being less busy during my pregnancy would be that it pushes back me owing on my student loans until the baby is about a year old. I'll probably start looking for something part time then.
While I love this plan, I can't help but think of all the what if's involved. I'm right there with Tara in that I worry a lot.
Monday- Work and then take my moms dog to the vet for a follow up visit. We went to the vet on Thursday night because her elbow was ping pong ball size swollen (shes a very fat mini doxie) and was bleeding some.
Tuesday- Work and thats about it.
Wednesday- Work again!
Thursday- Work and then head to the house for a visit.
Friday- Work and then drive to Az to watch my sisters dog for the weekend.
Tara- My fingers and toes are crossed for you!
Thank you. Also, my parents have a mini doxie! He used to be mine but my parents inherited him when I moved to a condo that didn't allow a dog. He's 9 years old and very hyper. He can be very sweet though.

If you don't know already, figure out how your school decides your graduation requirements. When I went to school, your core requirements were decided based on your entry year. Your major requirements were based off your graduation year. So if you change your graduation period, there's a chance they could change the classes required for you to graduate.
You are very right! That's how my school works too. I'm going to call my academic adviser to see if I can meet with her later this week. She should know about any changes. I've got all my core classes taken care of. I'm only working on my major requirements right now.
Today- going to J's doctor to apply for the medication assistance program for his "expensive" medication. I have expensive in quotes, because I don't think that even describes how high the price is.
T- Going to do gardening job, working on subbing and other applications.
W- No idea. Probably working on more apps, and paying bills.
Th- No idea again.
F- Same as before.
This is the week of our local fair, so we will probably be going there a few times over the week for dinner, because they have AMAZING cheese steaks. We can also find out what I won for my dress and other wedding attire things. I will take a picture for you all too!
Tara- I am keeping my fingers crossed for you too!
Michelle- I hope that works for you too! My school was all on entry year, I never would have thought of that, and I would have been screwed if it was grad date for me.
Thank you
I love all the support I get from you guys!

In my case, they were allowed to mess with your in-major graduation requirements up to 2 years before your graduation date. I graduated a semester early which got me out of a public speaking requirement.
You'll do fine tomorrow!!! I am sure you'll get something sooner or later. It's taken so long so you get the job you are REALLY meant to have!!!!!!!!!!!!
Monday: I had my SI leader training today. It went pretty well.
Tuesday: Right now, the plan is to go to a couple of places to inquire about IRAs. I've found a ton of information online, but I just want to make sure I'm understanding everything.
Wednesday: We're going to the beach as long as the weather outlook stays good! This might be one of the last times we go since school starts next week.
Thursday: I have to go back to school for more training.
Friday: No plans as of yet. I might go visit my cousin. I've been meaning to go have dinner with her all summer. She's due with her second child early next month, so I probably shouldn't put it off much longer.
Saturday: Another cousin is having a birthday party. (Confession: I hope she announces at the party that she's pregnant. I don't even know if they are trying, but I'm still hoping.)
Tara, I hope your interview goes well and that both you and Dennis end up with great jobs!
Michelle, I hope things work out so that you can drop down to part-time!
Thank you. Yes, it went fine. I think I rambled a little bit but at the end I told them that teaching is not just a job for me, it's my life and my excitment will show and the students will learn. Also that I'm in it for the students 110%. Oh and I added that this position would be perfect for me. I hope they liked that.
I will get a call from the superientendent with his decision tomorrow morning. I'm so scared I'll be rejected again.

I know it is hard to expect anything but rejection right now. I hope that you get the job! Try to stay positive.
I'm sending happy thoughts your way! Fingers crossed that it all goes well. I stress out about everything too, including trying to keep my "five year plan" updated. I like to say I'm OC (obsessive-compulsive without the disorder). You will get through and life will be amazingly perfect before you know it
