So I'm trying to decide how to have my makeup done/how to wear my hair in my MOH's wedding in 3 weeks (I'm a BM). She has said she doesn't care what we do with our hair/makeup, I am going to have both professionally done the day of.
This is the dress I am wearing, in navy:

I recently had 6 inches cut off my hair - it has long layers, and currently inbetween my shoulder blades at the longest layer. I was going to do a loose side swept curly ponytail/"up do", but I'm not sure my hair is going to be long enough after it's all curled. Since TN doesn't work great for me, here is the only photo I have after my haircut.

These were all the side up dos I had liked, but again not sure if my hair is going to be long enough:

I loved what my MUA did the day of our wedding - purple smoky eye. Hpwever, I'm concerned that a) it won't really "match" all the rest of the colors, and b) I don't want to outshine the bride.
You guys have probably figured out by now, I'm pale, blonde, and have green eyes. Any ideas on how I should wear my hair/do my makeup? I'm not really a fan of total updos/half updos on me, and I'd say I'd like something glamorous as far as makeup goes but not over the top. Also, do you guys think it would be over the top if I had them work in my rhinestone hair comb to my hair do? (pic also in my link to TK) TIA =]
Re: makeup/hair ideas?
I think your hair will definitely be long enough for on of the side dos like this:

I don't know about the ones where the hair is just pulled to the side. You layers may blow/pull out through the day.
I think your comb would look best not in a side do. There is something about it (gorgeous) that seems very symmetrical to me.
Have you ever done a smoky gray eye make-up? I think it would be a really pretty combo with the dress and your eyes
I am also really pale and blonde, though I have blue/gray eyes, and the gray always looks very pretty on me.
Good luck! Let us know what you decide!
One of my BM's did a side ponytail for my wedding and it looked really good. What the lady did was basically did the ponytail first and then curled the hair. It looked super cute and kept it out of her way all day. Her hair was about the length of yours maybe a little shorter.
I think a smokey eye would look good with the dress and since it's in navy you can go with a grey color on it. Your MUA just needs to find a color that compliments the navy.
You can definately pull it to the side!
My sisters hair was just barely shoulder length (the longest layer) for the wedding and she curled and pulled to the side (left some strands out so that it still looked curly from the front)..this is how hers turned out:
