For your foodies (and "clean" / organic food lovers)

I just met with the owner of a new Strip District market and, wow, is she a phenomenal young entrepeneur.

If you haven't heard of this new place (just opened in July), it's called Marty's Market (23rd and Smallman) - she's open 7 days a week and supports local farmers and local sustainability. I know a lot of the Moms here love products like Annie's crackers - well, she sells those plus so much more (also, gluten-free items, etc.). She also has a cafe, coffee bar, outdoor seating, etc.

Oh and the owner is an Iraqi War veteran. Seriously - she is incredibly smart - I was so lost on some of what she was talking about!

As you (hopefully) know, I get nothing from this. Just thought I would bring to the front local, small woman-owned business. I really hope she makes it! http://martysmarket.com/

  • I pass it on my way home and have been thinking about stopping by. Will do so the next time I need something. :-)

  • I saw an interview with her on the news.  The place looked great!  I hope to make it to the Strip sometime soon.
  • is it where the other market used to be the block below the Harp?

Yup! Nature's Foods, or something along those lines. One block up from the Cork Factory.
