Blah.

I'm finally feeling better enough to not be a lazy butthole all day but still a little run down. Our place is a frighin disaster. I still haven't hung up my laundry from the buffalo trip, H's wine papers are all over the dining room table, the living room is an eruption of toys and I just don't feel like dealing with it. I did all the dishes and cleaned off the kitchen counters and bar top, so that's a start.

We had such a nice routine going before all this, not to mention I haven't been to the gym this week so I feel like a fatty mcfatfat

Really, I'm just rambling at this point. How's your day going?

Re: Blah.

  • Eh, pretty good.  I'm about to head to the gym.  I came home from work and started to pick up the house.  After the gym, I'll clean up some more.  Ugh, I feel like cleaning is a never-ending job! :-(

  • So sorry to hear you are sick QJ. Are you starting to feel better?

My day is the complete opposite of yesterday. Today is Horrible! I want a redo.

And yes cleaning is a never ending job.

  • I'm feeling mostly better as far as the headache and sore throat, still just tired though. I'm beginning to feel like we are outgrowing this apartment but we can't afford to move right now, and it's so nice being next to BIL and SIL and their kids.
  • Well that is good. The energy will eventually return. Hopefully sooner rather then later.

That must be nice to have family you like so close. Maybe you just need to do some creative rearranging of furniture and new storage to make the space fit you better? I'm no help other then that.

  • Work was good. The day went by fast, thanks to cases that were quick, so I was always running getting rooms together. I'm starting to get a feel for what area I want to work in when I'm out of orientation, which needs to happen soon because my checks look like crap.

I finally carried my a** to the gym and didn't die. I'm so happy I finally have a co-worker who will go to the gym with me. I'm always the only one that wants to go, so it's nice to have someone there with me, otherwise I'd either not go or not go for too long. I'm sure I'll feel it tomorrow when I go to move a patient onto the OR table...

  • I agree. Blah. I'm exhausted.

We had a meeting at the end of today with our principal about expectations for our school. A lot of it conflicts with what is the norm for band. They say they want students working until the bell, not giving them extra time to pack up before the bell rings and should be learning the whole class. Well I have 30 students who need to put instruments away and take turns putting their stuff back in the closet. I'm giving them time to pack up.

I'm just doing things how I need to do them. I hope they realize that some of their expectations don't work for my kind of class.

Also I have no whiteboard/chalkboard/anything to write on the board and present things from. Nowhere to project an image if they even give me a projector. But I'm supposed to have stuff written on the board and a powerpoint slide ready for open house?

    Sure. Okay.

  • QJ - glad you're feeling somewhat better!  I hear you on the outgrowing an apartment.  The house we're in is sooo incredibly small!  It's basically the size of a larger 2 bdrm or 3 bdrm apartment.  With just under 1000 square feet, doesn't leave much to do.

Dee - Sucks to hear that your principal is being difficult on the expectations.  My mom has a day care for teacher's children, and one of them commented last night that Open House is the worst part of the entire year.

I've been getting quite the run-around lately. I understand everyone is busy because there's less than a week til students start and we're way behind, but the principal should not be telling me to contact the company who built the school about my whiteboard. It should be: I talk to him then HE talks to them.

    That stinks.

Does the school have rolls of white paper? You can pin some up as a canvas for the overhead projector.

  • That stinks.  I'm sure it'll all get better once the students start :-)  The kids around here have been back in school for about 2 weeks now.
