Well-being Wednesday: 8/15

Let's hear it ladies - in what areas of life have you been good, where do you need some inspiration? Had a great weight loss? Reached a new running or exercise milestone? took some time to do something for yourself like a haircut, new craft, or new recipe?

Share your well-being thoughts here! Let's cheer each other on, and offer to hold the pint of ice cream when, well, it's just one of those weeks.

Re: Well-being Wednesday: 8/15

  • graduated from PT today! cleared to start up slowly with my workouts on Sunday, one mile at a time, slow pace, and easy does it on the stationary bike. Goal is to work up to my 3.1/3.5 distance (depends on loop near my house) by end of October, then work on speed over the winter. PMS has arrived and AF due this weekend I think so weight loss will suck but as of Monday I was at my lowest point so far! Working on mental health, getting a few things to get better organized and just trying to survive the next week and a half of work. INSANITY.

  • Yay for graduating from PT, Michele! Good luck with work - I hope it turns out to be less stressful than you think.

I'm now halfway done with my pregnancy, and it's freaking me out. I don't know where the time has gone and I feel completely unprepared. I've also started reading too many birth stories... all the ones I can find of women who had their first quickly (less than 10 hours) had their second super fast - precipitous labors under 3 hours. Several of them were unassisted because they didn't realize how quickly things were moving. Now I'm paranoid it will happen to me, so I've gone into a frenzy of research on the subject. Hopefully knowing all the options and what to do in the event of the unexpected will keep me calm...

I say this every week, but prenatal yoga keeps my body from falling apart. I always feel so much better on Wednesdays because of it!

  • I have a migraine, and my kids don't get the concept of "mommy needs you to play quietly," especially when I'm hurting. AF arrived this morning. I'm cramping and irritable. I think I'm up again, weight-wise this week. Oh well. But, the kids are having fun this week. I am now a leader/chaperone for the whole VBS week, and in the same group as both of my kids. I will be cantoring the closing mass for VBS this weekend. This is so good for my soul, and what I needed right now. Now to get the rest of my life to follow suit.
