I saw in the thread below that you are getting crabs from the Seafood stop this weekend. Have you gotten them there before? Do you think they are reasonably priced?
We are looking to have my family over for crabs this weekend, and I am not sure where to get them from. My mom said my dad could steam them himself, but I don't even know if live crab trucks are still around...
Did you order ahead?
TIA!
Re: **jcsntms06**
We have been getting crabs from the Fallston Seafood stop for about 4 years now. We have yet to have a bad crab, we usually have crabs at least once during the summer, normally ordering a bushel (we normally have 8-10 people over too). My hubby ordered them on Monday for Saturday pick up at 6:00 p.m. They are $219 for a bushel of med/larges and they are pretty true to that. Just in the past year or so, they have been giving away tomatoes, corn (dozen), watermelon, paper with your purchase of a bushel. I think that's a great deal. I would call today, see if they have any available for Saturday. They normally don't start steaming the crabs until you arrive, so you have to wait 15-30 minutes.
One year we bought from this Seafood store in the Festival at Bel Air and they were pretty much the same price, and not much meat inside. Two weeks ago we had crabs at my IL's down in Severn (near BWI) they were just awful, got them from this place down in Odenton (Crab Galley, I believe). Crabs were really watery, and small.
