Nice One Night Get-Away Ideas

Hello everyone!  I wanted to see if anyone has any good ideas for a one night get-away somewhere that I would enjoy while one month from my due date.  Mine and DHs 5 year anniversary is September 29 (I am due October 30).  It would just be the two of us and would probably only be for one night.  I was pretty active right up to the end with my last pregnancy and hope to be able to be the same this time around, but I probably won't want to drive too far.  I was looking for a nice hotel downtown.  The Penguins have a preseason game that afternoon so if we could get tickets and do a nice dinner and stay over someplace afterwards, that would be nice but the nicer hotels I looked at downtown seemed really expensive for what they were.

We like being outdoorsy too so maybe a place with a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub where we could do some hiking and relax for the evening would be nice too.  I found some great options for bed and breakfasts and inns (looked in Deep Creek and Hocking Hills areas mostly) that match up with my 2nd description but it seems a lot of them are either already booked up that night or have 2 night minimum stays.  I feel like similar questions have been asked on here several times before but I couldn't find anything with the awesome search function of course.  Any feedback is appreciated!

Re: Nice One Night Get-Away Ideas

  • I would try to price line or hotwire the downtown hotels, especially if it's only for one night.  I would imagine you can get somewhere decent for $100/nt.

  • How about Ligonier? I think as long as you aren't trying to go over Fort days, you should be okay. They have cute little shops around the square and there are some parks nearby that you could take a walk in if you wanted.

  • I never thought of priceline or hotwire!  I'll have to try those for sure if we decide on downtown.
