Do you wax, shave, something else? I would like to get laser hair removal done on my arm pits because I hate shaving them. Has anyone had a laser hair removal procedure? Opinions on it?
Re: QOTD - hair related
I've had laser done. I have mixed feelings about it. It worked best on my nether regions (the thickest, darkest hair has the best results). So something like your arm pits should have good results.
It takes a long time and a lot of sessions to get "permanent" results. Even then you have to go back about once a year to have in "maintained." Also it only has about 80% hair loss, so you will still have to shave bit.
I don't think the pain is that bad. Much less pain than waxing. You do have to wear sunscreen on any treated areas-sun exposure can really darken the area. Also if you have light colored hair, or a darker skin tone, laser won't work for you. And once you hit menopause you most likely will need to do it all over again. Weeee.
I don't "regret" doing it, but I have been a bit disappointed by the results, and the fact that I have to keep going back, even if it just once a year.
I had laser done on my underarms as part of a promotion that I won at a bridal show. I've only had 3 of the 6 sessions so far because I ended up getting too tan pre-wedding, I should probably resume them soon. I noticed a difference at first but now not so much.
I shave my legs and lately have been getting brazilians. I don't know how much longer that will keep up though. It seems like you have to be gross and growing it out for like 2 weeks, then you wax and are sore for a couple days, then maybe a few more days of total smoothness before it starts growing back. It's so expensive and I just don't know if it's worth it for maybe a week of smoothness. I wish I could find a place that would laser EVERYTHING down there but so far I don't think anyone will.
How did you survive without nekked sunbathing?
But, to answer the question, I shave everything. I bruise with waxing pretty easily so its just a mess.
I shave.
Exciting, I know!

for the most part I shave but I do get my eyebrows waxed.
I actually bought a groupon last week for laser hair removal ($150 for 6 sessions) and I went Saturday to have my first treatment on my under arms! I think the results are different for everybody but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this works because I HATE shaving! The technician said she would always honor the groupon price for me so even if I have to pay $25 once a year to keep it maintained, I feel it's worth it!
As for the pain, its really not that bad. There were areas in my underarm that I didn't feel anything at all but the middle was more sensitive and it just felt like a quick sting but its over so fast before you even have time to think about how it felt. Both arms probably only took about 5 minutes together.
@ZIMS what the heck is bikini sugaring?

It's a form of epilation that's less painful than waxing. It's more moisturizing and no strips to rip it off.

I want to get laser hair removal done soooo bad! Especially before we start trying. I don't want to have to worry about being pregnant AND hairy.
Right now I'll get waxed every once in a while, but it's not a regular thing. By the time you get everything waxed (leg, underarms, bikini), it's almost as much as a laser hair removal sessioN!
