Judgmental Tuesday

What are you judgey about today?

Re: Judgmental Tuesday

  • oh this is too easy......

my friends want to get rid of their dogs because they have kids now. major side eye.

my dad's girlfriend's daughter in law has decided not to vax their new baby. none at all. I really had to bite my tongue.

    • My one coworker always complains that her family can't make ends meet and that she will probably have to get a 2nd job. Yet every single day she comes in to work with store bought coffee and breakfast and then she goes out to lunch. Then she'll usually go out and buy more coffee and a snack in the afternoon.
    • One of my best friends is still a really bad sun worshipper. She doesn't go to tanning beds or anything in the winter but she spends all summer at the beach and doesn't wear any sunblock. She's only 33 and she has dark spots on her face already. I really worry about her.
    • My MIL is always on some sort of fad crash diet and she always ends up gaining like double the weight back. Literally one time she did this diet where she ate nothing but lettuce. It's such a pain when we have to go out to dinner with her or have a family gathering b/c she can't eat anything.

That's one of my biggest pet peeves. One of my friend's brother's gave away their rescue dog that they had had for years after it bit one of their kids and then they ended up getting a puppy soon after that.

  • Perfect post for the day I'm having at work!

People that complain about their situations all the time (ie: not having money, unhappy with their weight) but do nothing about it.

If you're broke, stop swiping your credit card and spending money you know you do not have.  It's called being a responsible adult.

If you're unhappy with your weight, take a look at what you're eating and your exercise habits.  See if you can make small changes.  Don't stuff yourself with 5 cupcakes and complain you are fat (I'm looking at you coworker!).

Of course I realize not all situations are black and white and people have unexpected/special circumstances.

This is my MIL. Always on some fad diet with absolutely no exercise (because I don't count gardening and meditation) and then when we go out to dinner it adds to the ordeal. There was, of course, South Beach, something with four 400-cal meals every 4 hours and now I'm pretty sure they are gluten-free. It wouldn't be a pain except for the 1. complaints that they don't have anything on the diet or 2. lamentations that they are "cheating" today. Oh, and we are supposed to notice and fawn every time 10 lbs are lost (that were gained back from the last crash diet).

  • I'm judgemental about shittyparents.  I see parents every day on the Metro dragging/yanking their squalling kids around the station/trains - totally ignoring them, except to yell at them to hurry up or stop doing something, etc.  Uhhh - that's your kid and then never talk to them about anything not in anger.

  • I have a friend who posted that she was getting rid of her dog on facebook and said "we just don't have time for X anymore now that we have a baby"
  • People who can't control/parent the kid/s they have (or really enjoy them and treat them lovingly)--and then they go have more, and complain all the time that they never have money or time because of the kids.  It's called birth control.  Use it or shut up.
