Baby Shower Decorations & Ideas

hey,

This is super last minute...but does anyone have any baby shower decorations that I could use for a last minute shower i am throwing on saturday morning? It's nothing major- long story short, i am throwing it for a girl due in september who is going through very unfortunate times, no father in the picture, so i wanted to just do something nice for her/ make her feel special.

I'm in East Falls and could pick up stuff tomorrow after work (after 5) for the shower that is on Saturday Morning. I can't get any more last minute! I forgot about the nest as I haven't been on here since my wedding (october 2010). So i apologize for my absence.

Also, any ideas would be great! I haven't really been to a shower nor have I ever thrown one. Again, it is low key, not very extravagant, probably not many present will be brought (so no baby bingo- i have heard of that game, lol). I've been collecting free things that I am going to be giving her as a present (stroller, carrier, bath tub, things like that...)

Thanks so much ladies!!

Re: Baby Shower Decorations & Ideas

  • Good Luck on the party. Instead of driving around picking up stuff. I would spend $20 at Target and get some balloons, and streams, maybe a few lanterns and call it good.

  • The Dollar Tree does helium ballons.  Do you have a Produce Junction near you?  You could get some flowers for cheap too.

  • Party City or a similar store will have banners, etc. you can hang.  Sometimes Dollar Tree also has decorations so check there.  Good luck!

  • I'm in East Falls too so let me know if there is anything specific you're looking for and I'll let you know if I know where to find it. Besides the Target, there is a Michael's in Bala Cynwyd with a small selection of baby shower items. The Produce Junction (if you wanted flowers) is a little further. Head down route 1 and take a left on to Bryn Mawr Ave (just before the Rite Aid) it's about a mile down the road. I'm pretty sure they close at 5:00 on week days but they open pretty early if you were able to swing in Saturday morning before the shower. A little further down route 1 is a Dollar Tree where you can get balloons and other party supplies. Good luck!

  • Lizzie, If you ever find your way back to this board, I think you might live across the street from me. Or maybe it was just by chance that one of my neighbors held a baby shower on the same day you held yours. -NQ
