I have an interview!
It is only an aide job, but it is better than nothing!
BTW, anyone have an interview tips? It will be my first interview ever.

YAY!!! That's very exciting news.
I would dress up. Even if the position is not for a 'dress up' type position, I always dress up. Take a copy of your resume and any letters of recommendation. If you've already submitted those, then you wouldn't necessarily need to take them with you. Maybe practice with your DH in answering the basic interview questions like what is a strength of yours, what is a weakness. I would always have these answers prepared in my head but sometimes I'd get so nervous I couldn't spit them out. Practicing helped.
Awesome! Make sure to do some research on the company, when you are able to talk specifically about the company it shows that you are interested and have done your homework.
Here a few things I ask when givng an interview:
What prompted you to apply for _______ position?
What do you think are you best skills?
I am also big on STAR questions. They are questions that ask about a specific situation, what you did during that situation and what the outcome of the situation was. An example of this question type would be Tell me about a time when you encountered a difficult person, how did you handle the situation and what was the resolution. Dont feel pressured with these question types. Take a minute to stop and think about what you are gonig to say before you say it.
I also like to ask about the interviewee's future goals.

Advice from me:
1. Be confident
2. Smile a lot
3. Bring copies of your resume and bring your portfolio
4. Don't be afarid to open your portfolio if the time is right. I use mine to show examples of lessons I taught
5. Listen carefully to what the question is and don't be afriad to ask them to repeat themselves if necessary.
6. Explain how technology can inhance your teaching
7. State that you will always carefully follow the core content standards
8. Explain how you will communicate with parents sending home a welcome newsletter with rules and procedure and an introduction to yourself. Also that you may call parents for positive behavior, not just negative behavior.
9. Since this is an aid position, explain that it is very important to work well with the main teacher and that you know it's important to always plan and conference with him/her.
10. Tell them that you are very passionate and dedicated to the students and CANNOT wait to get in the classroom to show your excitment for learning to the students.

Personally, I hate these questions....especially in the IT field.....
