Baby Shower Gifts

What do you think have been the most creative, useful, or most thoughtful baby shower gifts you've given or received? I have like 5 baby showers coming up, and i'm tired of buying diaper pails or bath tubs!

Re: Baby Shower Gifts

  • I got Aden + Anais swaddling blankets and they were one of the most fun useful things I received. We still use them after 2 years.

  • Some of the most practical things are the things I appreciated the most (like a tub). I can tell you who gave us almost everything from our registry.

  • Ditto on the A&A blankets.  They are a bit expensive to buy yourself, but so useful.  We still use ours, as does Emma's doll. :-)

My standard "magic" gifts are A&A blankets and the Fisher Price Seahorse.  I usually get both.

  • This might be a cute way of gifting the blankets and shows that you put thought and effort into it.

    Me too! So cute.

  • I know a lot of people do diaper cakes, but I think they are pretty awesome and useful.  My aunts did one for me and snuck all kinds of stuff in there - inside they put baby shampoo, diaper cream, snack traps.  And then they tucked a bunch of other stuff in the diapers like spoons, teethers, rattles, etc.

  • I love the numbered onesies for each stickers to take photos of the babies each month.

  • I also love the A&A swaddlers and target sells a line of them thats less pricey.

Otherwise, one of my go-to gifts is a fully stocked diaper bag (if the bag on the registry is fairly affordable). I buy whatever bag is on the registry and put in all the basics like a couple diapers, wipe container, hand sanitizer, tissues, first aid stuff, nail clippers, change purse, paci pod, burp cloth, receiving blanket, spare onesie, a rattle or other small toy etc. (there are many diaper bag lists online you can pick through) Thus far, the recipients have seemed to appreciate a fully stocked bag as its one less thing on the to-do list...and honestly Im an organization nerd and I enjoy packing all the stuff in the little pockets of the bag.

  • kross- love that idea, did that for my BFF with her twins!

if i dont buy off the registry i like buying things that are useful but maybe pricier that you may not want to purchase for yourself- that damn giraffe Sophie, some A&A blankets, the full sized plastic bibs in fun patterns or my newest favorite, reusable food containers, like the expensive stainless steel sippy cup that costs $20 each. Most people only think of the cute tiny baby coming out and forget that in a year that kid will be a full size human child
