11 weeks
Other than being tired and still having to watch what I eat due to indigestion, I'm feeling much better. As the last week progressed each day got better and better. I still get carsick but hey I can deal with that. Along with feeling better, I had more energy so I accomplished a lot around the house this last weekend.
I'll be honest, I haven't taken a bump picture since probably 8 weeks. I know not much has changed on the outside, but it's on my to do list for this week. As I posted earlier in the week, I bought the first baby outfit. DH and I were talking about the nursery this weekend. We'll probably start moving furniture around in the next few weeks so we can paint the room. I'm getting super excited to share the news with everyone else. Only 3 more weeks. I talked to one of my friends who is a graphic designer to see if she would design something cute that I could use to announce on Facebook/via email. Anyone have any ideas?
Mini Vent: We went to my niece's 1st birthday party on Friday (she's so adorable). Some of DH's aunts and uncles were there. I was NOT planning on telling them yet. I'm waiting until the end of the 1st trimester to announce to everyone who doesn't know. My MIL, bless her heart, at least asked me in private if I was going to say anything, to which I said no. FIL was different. He kept asking me about it in a very loud voice. DH even pulled him aside and told him we were still keeping it a secret. 5 minutes later as were doing the birthday cake, FIL and his girlfriend both very loudly again start asking me about how I feel, any morning sickness lately, ect. WTF? So we went ahead and told everyone who was there. It wasn't the end of the world, but that man seriously annoys me.

Sorry you had to tell them before you were ready. That sucks. Your FIL sounds like mine. He opens his mouth and says the wrong thing a lot and it annoys the HELL out of me.

That's a great way to put it, Tara. He often says the wrong things at the wrong time. I hope my car sickness goes away too. But one symptom at a time is easier to deal with than 5 at a time. I just remind myself that it's totally worth it.

3.) My MIL is the one who can't keep a secret. Part of it is that her memory is starting to go a tad bit. She's not that old, only in her late 50's, but her parents had memory loss as early as 50. Anyways, she often forgets that we tell her to "keep things on the down low." Or she gets really excited and just blurts it out. So I can totally relate.
4.) I'm not quite sure how you're keeping it quiet! I'd be dying to tell everyone I knew! I totally understand why though. Hats off to you Michelle!
I'm afraid DHs mom will do the same thing your father in law did when the time comes. I'm afriad I will go BSC on her when she does it too.

Originally we were going to keep it a secret from everyone including our parents until our first ultrasound. That was too hard to keep a secret.
We probably won't paint for at least another 3-4 weeks. We are going to be moving my ginormous desk into DH's office and hauling his to the dump. Maybe next weekend. Then my parents are visiting for Labor Day. The only guest bed we have is in what will be the nursery. So the bed stays until after their visit. I'm not sure what we are going to do with the bed but it needs to go. So sometime in September we'll get the nursery cleaned out all the way. I want to go with a gender neutral paint and use curtains and bedding to personalize if boy or girl. But depending on when we finally get the room cleaned out and when we find out, that might change.

Michelle, sorry about your FIL. That sucks. What sort of pregnancy announcement are you looking to do? Will you be taking bump photos with your DH to use? Or do you just want a regular announcement? I've bookmarked some cute ideas. When I get a chance, I'll look through them.
