s/o I need a new jacket and a new coat
I have some things (obviously) but with my weight loss I would like something a little chicer. What do you think?

Re: s/o I need a new jacket and a new coat
what style(s) do you gravitate toward? peacoat? down? something cool that i don't even know about?
fwiw, i really want a knee-length down coat this winter, but i am afraid it will make me look frumpy.

I think, yes! If your MyFitnessPal is accurate, you deserve more than just a new coat. You're doing such an amazing job with the weight loss!
What did you have mind for coats?
These are the current front runners. I have a full wool coat, and yeah I look frumpy, but when I need it I NEED it. Going for less frump with these.

On the fence about them both, but they can both be layered so much and I can have the freedom I need with a toddler.
I have to try them all on and I'm best with a waist something since I am REALLY busty and I have broad shoulders.
Go visit Debbie at Best Friends on Main Street (next to Wooden Spoon). I get all of my coats there. She carries the Tulle (www.Tulle4us.com) line, which has some items that look like the blazer you posted.
eSyn can vouch for my coat collection.
Tulle does make great coats!
I also love the Barbour one you posted...it's kind of on my "wish list." My SIL has that one and it's so nice.
I'll check out Best Friends on Saturday.
Does your sister love her Barbour? Do you know if it's warm?
She wears it year-round but they live in England so it never gets quite as cold as it does here (it def. gets cold but just not as frigid as our Feb/Marches).
I've had a ton of luck at Macy's using coupons and sales. I have 3 coats that are all knee length button downs with belts. I have them in red, black, and winter white. (The winter white doesn't come out that often now that I have a kid, sadly). The tapered waist and belt are very flattering.
Here's an example of what I'm thinking:

i am jealous that you are an amazing amazon and can wear this. i would like like frumpy city in one.
So not true! First, I'm not an amazon by any means. I'm prob slightly taller then average. Second, the jacket would come lower on me then it does on the super tall model. Third, it's such a flattering cut/style that it's easily wearable, IMO, by many different body types.
I have a coat very similar to that. I love it. I think I got it at Loehmann's for about $80. The only down side to it is that it attracts cat hair like nobodies business.
