Any LPN's or RN's?

Just a question for you, I have my B.S in Psych, but I am looking to go back to school for a career change. What would the best option for me, an LPN or an RN program? I doubt many of my credits would transfer to either as I didn't take many science classes beyond the basics in college. I was thinking of getting my LPN certificate, and then working as an LPN while I continued on to get my RN. Is that a good plan? Or should I just go for the RN? I work for a residential human services agency now, and I know we hire LPN's to manage the health care plans of the individuals in our group homes, so I could even work at the same agency while I go to school. I just need some advice for those in the field. Thanks!

Glad to hear you are interested in the nursing profession. In my opion go for the RN preferrably a BSN. There are many accelerated programs out there most of which are 1 year so so. The BSN will give you a better advantage than most. Good Luck

I'd have to agree with Dayana too! Go the RN/BSN route. A lot of hospitals are looking for RN and BSN degrees now. I just graduated in December last year and in our classes they kept stressing how the nursing community is actually trying to get rid of the associate nursing degree. So definitely go the other route. Hope that helps!
