I have a legal question if anyone can help
I live in Iowa if that matters. I was wondering what it takes to get a no contact order? No one is violent they just won't leave me alone. Long story short I met my "sperm donor" at 20 and his daughter aka my half sister won't leave me alone on Facebook.. I block her and she just creates another Facebook to talk to me. TYIA.
Re: I have a legal question if anyone can help
Not sure about the legal aspect, but this happened to a friend of mine with an -ex who wouldn't accept that they were over. There are some steps you can take on facebook:
1. Update your privacy settings so that no one can find you/search for you. You'll have to be the one to add people, but if she can't find you she can't contact you.Limit allowing your posts, etc from being seen by friends of friends.
2. Report her to Facebook, and make sure you list all of the accounts she has been using. Facebook can block her IP addresses and email accounts from being used to create future facebook profiles.
You can do a few things after stating to both of them that you do not want contact with them:
1.) Call the police and file harrassment charges if they continue to call, email, etc.(the police will probably make contact with them and warn them before issuing a citation).
2.)Go to your local clerk of court and ask to file a no contact order. Since there is no abuse there will probably be a fee to file and you will most likely have to go before a judge and explain your reasons for wanting one.
3.) Find an attorney
Good luck!
You can change your facebook settings so that only people who you have agreed to be friends with can contact you or even message you. This is under privacy settings then click how you connect and change all the settings there to friends only.
I know not the answer to your question but this should also help stop any facebook harassment.
